The Impeachment Thread

I started to watch that debate, but 3 seconds of Bernie, Liz, and Joe in high definiton was all I was good for.

Can we get fireside chats back? Not for you, Bernie. You sounded like a basset hound stuck in a garbage disposal.
Bernie is the grumpiest , angriest, most humorless old fart that I have ever seen.

How on Earth did he hold that press conference and get no questions about this? Its almost like the people called upon had earlier agreed not to ask him about it.

He was asked about it this morning. Offered the kind of nonsense that you'd expect.

Yes, but given the absurdity of his answers in the morning, it should have made it MORE likely that he would be asked follow up about it at the noon press conference, not less.

He was advised by his lawyer, Giuliani, not to answer questions.
Trump and Giuliani are never on the same page. Last night on CNN, Giuliani admitted that he had been lobbying the Ukrainian government to pursue an investigation against Hunter Biden. Today, Trump is calling the whole thing "fake news" and blaming the whistleblower report on partisanship. I can't believe there wasn't better coordination than that before Giuliani went on the air. They are terrible liars.

1. Biden should have at the very least recused himself from anything having to even a tangential affect on his son's involvement in Ukrainian business. That he ignored a clear conflict of interest here adds to a laundry list of issues that make him a very poor candidate to face Trump.

2. Trump is running the White House like a criminal enterprise. Using the power of the office to cajole, strongarm and blackmail anyone he can for his own personal gain. Anyone but the POTUS would have been thrown in prison at this point. Rod Blagojevich wouldn't even have the chutzpah to do half this stuff.
Your first point directly refutes your second point of noone would think to do this.

There probably is, it's just that there's no General standing behind Trump to remind him that there' probably merit in him hot commenting.

Giuliani seems to go off script quite a bit and Trump acts like he never read it. They'd make a good sitcom

Just so we are all clear, the matter at hand is about one presidential candidate offering money for an investigation of a second candidate to a foreign country. The investigation would be over the second candidate giving the same country money over an investigation.

Man I need in on this being Ukraine business. I get paid to keep my mouth shut, and i get paid to open it again by the same dupes.

If you think trump and his influence is just that of "presidential candidate", then I don't think you're clear on what the issue is.

I didn't see your post about "money" until after I posted about "flexibility"... did this actually come out or are you basically making an edumacated guess here?

No, the matter at hand concerns whether or not the President of the United States offered aid to a foreign government to pursue an investigation that could potentially benefit him politically. That would be a bribe... and bribery is usually a felony.

Trump is no Richard Pryor, but he is ahead of Bernie, plus he isn't a socialist/communist.
Trump is as gloomy, dour and negative as they come. The default expression on Trump's face is the pursed-lipped frown. He has no capacity for laughing at himself, and he has repeatedly shown that he can't handle jokes made at his expense, even when they are good-natured with no ill intent. He is a classic example of someone who can dish it out, but can't take it. He has no sense of self-awareness and no sense of humor.
