It was a rhetorical question to begin with. IMO the libertarians thought is a push for pure capitalism but with a social conscious. It lacks the ideas for social change though. In 1980. They certainly supported their fair share of “establishment” type republicans, but yes I think it’s fair to say that they were libertarian minded.
Why would anyone want to eliminate SS? It's the JG wentworth of retirement. You pay in and you get back while providing a valued social service. What alternative do they offer? He was a huge anti interventionist, wanted to abolish the fed, and wanted to eliminate social security. Pretty standard libertarian views.
Huge fan of those guys...it wasn't reported much but they gave alot to charity...He was a huge anti interventionist, wanted to abolish the fed, and wanted to eliminate social security. Pretty standard libertarian views.
Probably saw how government was abusing the crap out of it and using it as their own piggy bank. We will have a massive SS short fall down the road. Unless something changes it’s inevitable. Why would anyone want to eliminate SS? It's the JG wentworth of retirement. You pay in and you get back while providing a valued social service. We don't have a shortfall we have a spending other people's money problem. SS is sound and owed Trillions by our government spending it on other ****.Probably saw how government was abusing the crap out of it and using it as their own piggy bank.
