It was a rhetorical question to begin with. IMO the libertarians thought is a push for pure capitalism but with a social conscious. It lacks the ideas for social change though.

Why would anyone want to eliminate SS? It's the JG wentworth of retirement. You pay in and you get back while providing a valued social service. What alternative do they offer?

We don't have a shortfall we have a spending other people's money problem. SS is sound and owed Trillions by our government spending it on other ****.
SS is not the problem, It's the theft from it and trying to abolish it to keep from repaying with interest.
