The Impeachment Thread

Welp..that's the final nail in the coffin for the Russian Collusion hoax...u would have thought the Dems would learn their lesson but now they are pushing bribery and extortion lol..kinda hard to do that when the other side didn't know and they didn't have to do anything to get their aid

Russia, if you're listening ....

Sounds like somebody wants to stay out of prison for their cannabis scheme...none of this matters the Ukrainians have said they weren't aware of the holdup...they got their money without having to open any investigations...this is just like the Redskins name controversy....no actual native Americans were upset about the name..it was SJWs being upset on their behalf...no Dem cared about the poor Ukrainians when Uncle Joe shook them down..and btw that international outrage over the prosecutor talking point is gone.. new evidence shows that Burisma reached out to the US and this all originated with Biden

"A White House official pushed back on the notion that acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney's decision to join a lawsuit seeking a federal judge's guidance in the impeachment inquiry amounts to any distance between Mulvaney and President Trump.

The official said Mulvaney is working with the White House, not against it.

"Mulvaney's counsel is working closely with [White House counsel's office], and WHCO was fully apprised of the filing before it took place," the official said. "Having the President be on the lawsuit is a technicality, given the competing instructions given to Mr. Mulvaney. The lawsuit is non-adversarial as to the President, and in no way indicates any distance between the President and the acting chief."

TRANSLATION: Mulvaney is definitely trying to distance himself from the White House.

We all know the truth:

1) Trump instituted a quid pro quo whereby the Ukrainians would not get the designated money or meeting with the President unless they agreed to reopen investigations into Biden's son and publicly say that Ukraine had some linkage to 2016 election interference.

2) This correctly alarmed a number of career service professionals who reported it to various degrees.

3) When it became clear that Trump's actions were going public, the aid was released and efforts made to minimize the damage.

4) He will be impeached for this.

5) He will not be removed for it.

6) At the conclusion of that process, the Democrats will complain that the failure to remove was partisan and the Republicans will claim that the impeachment was partisan. Trump will claim victory and vindication.

Disagree on #3.

Apparently, neither Trump nor the White House lifted a finger to approve the funding. Rather, State Department found withholding was illegal and, thus, released the $.

How do you figure that this statement gives him leverage against prosecution by SDNY?

Trump only released the money after the whistleblower complaint was delayed by DNI Joeseph Maguire. Maguire testified in September that he went to the White House Counsel and Attorney General with the complaint before asking for an extension of time to turn it over to Congress. Trump forked over the money after he got caught.

I Wrote About the Bidens and Ukraine Years Ago. Then the Right-Wing Spin Machine Turned the Story Upside Down.

“In September 2015, then-U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt gave a speech in which he attacked the Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office for failing to cooperate with the British investigation. In his speech — which I quoted in my story — Pyatt mentioned Burisma’s owner by name.

“In the case of former Ecology Minister Mykola Zlochevsky, the U.K. authorities had seized $23 million in illicit assets that belonged to the Ukrainian people,” Pyatt said. Officials at the prosecutor general’s office, he added, were asked by the United Kingdom “to send documents supporting the seizure. Instead they sent letters to Zlochevsky’s attorneys attesting that there was no case against him. As a result, the money was freed by the U.K. court, and shortly thereafter the money was moved to Cyprus.”

Our government was criticizing Ukraine’s prosecutor general for not prosecuting Burisma after Biden went to work there and well before Joe Biden asked for Shokin to be fired for... wait for it... not prosecuting Burisma.

There were literally dozens of contemporaneous news articles mentioning that the EU had also asked that he be removed and there were contemporaneous tweets from other Ukrainian officials celebrating Shokin’s removal... because he wasn’t prosecuting corruption.

No he wasn't moving fast enough...Burisma wanted to settle because no company wants an investigation hanging over it. Bad for business.. they got rid of Shokin and replaced him with a guy who settled and may have done do via bribery..this is why the case is being reopened

How do you think Parnas gains leverage in his criminal case by making statements against the president?

The threat that Trump would pardon him would have been a huge bargaining chip.

Edit: did you read the daily beast article you linked?!

Does nothing to support your argument and then there’s this nugget from their main source:

“The Burisma case has been a systematic problem for years, first Prosecutor General [Viktor] Shokin, then Lutsenko blocked the criminal investigations,” Kalenyuk told The Daily Beast on Tuesday. “The pressure from Joe Biden was really needed, we welcomed it with gratitude, now it is up to the newly formed team of prosecutors to revisit the probe.”

I wouldn't say I'm triggered over that little meme. But, LOL......you stay triggered more than anyone except maybe BB85. If we show a parody of a poll that shows any kind of good favor to Republicans you're so quick to come here & shout Hoax Hoax my Dim brothers.....it's a Hoax. So scared of seeing any kind of a meme that's good for conservatives triggers you to a nose bleed.....so funny.

So your contention now is that the twitter poll you posted was a parody meme? LOL

Hah, buzz off with your moonwalk backtracking generalizations of "dims". Instead of making a fool out of yourself by lumping everyone together, try to pay attention to the arguments that are actually being made instead of the ones where hannity gave you the bullet points for.
