Trump's phone call with Zelensky involved a very clear conflict of interest and an abuse of power. The President of the United States has no business soliciting the leader of a foreign government for assistance with digging up dirt on a political rival of his... or involving the Attorney General either.
There was a "witch hunt" here and Trump was leading it.
1) Biden's son was not under investigation. Mykola Zlochevsky, who founded Burisma holdings, a company that Hunter Biden sat on the board of, was under investigation.
2) The U.K. had sought to have the prosecutor in the case, Viktor Shokin removed. Vitaly Kasko, a deputy prosecutor in the case, has stated that although the U.S., just like the U.K., wanted Shokin fired, they did not pressure anyone to drop the inquiries... just dump Shokin, the corrupt prosecutor.
3) It absolutely was digging up dirt on a political rival. It is either naive or dumb to think that Trump's interest in this, wasn't purely politically motivated. In other words, a witch hunt.
I see you got a copy of the GOP talking points yesterday too.So, it wasn't a conflict of interest for Biden to use threats and US money as leverage in a case that his son was involved in, but it's a conflict of interest for the President to ask that it be looked into, since they are political rivals.
I have news for you, Sunshine, it's not illegal or immoral to have political rivals investigated. Not even mentioning that Ukrainian president said "no", and the whistle-blower wasn't even privy to the investigation...The Dems are idiots. Pure, desperate, idiocy. To draw this line in the sand about using gov't power to bully other nations, with Biden's conflicted interests...
Hilariously stupid. Now, Trump will be vindicated, the Dems will wear the "attempted impeachment" scarlet letter going into 2020, and the Dems will have set the moral outrage necessity for Biden's bullying.
lol
If biden was doing something illegal, it's the American justice system that needs to handle it, not the Ukraine. We have procedures for investigating American Citizens. There is no grey area unless there is an open investigation into Biden by the United States Government. Is it soliciting a foreign government to tamper with an election if Biden truly was doing something illegal?
We're in a huge gray area here.
I'm not trying anything. I'm reacting to something I literally just read. I'm sure there are plenty of details I missed.
But but but someone said bidens kid wasnt under investigation! It's a moot point now.If biden was doing something illegal, it's the American justice system that needs to handle it, not the Ukraine. We have procedures for investigating American Citizens. There is no grey area unless there is an open investigation into Biden by the United States Government.
