The JB Incident

No, he punished one but not the other, when both were wrong.
How do we know that Hooker was not punished at all?

If AP is right, this was not Banks first chance. He was warned about grades, practice attendance, being late, and stepping on the T.

Sounds like he was given plenty of chances, whereas I have yet to hear anything to suggest Hooker was ever in danger of being disciplined before getting into a fight and anything other than a good teammate and leader.

Ftr, I never heard about Banks getting into trouble until this happened.

But making these types of statements in the press just shows how immature he is.

There was an incident between he and Hooker. Heupel chose sides, instead of handling the issue fairly like a coach should. The defense saw what went down and was mad their guy got suspended and Hooker didn't.

Then maybe you should be a wee bit more angry about the entire defense laying down and refusing to play because of a disciplinary decision by the head coach. That sounds much more immature to me than whatever you mean by "choosing sides."

if i was the GM, i would want some ownership. I think its safe to assume Heup didn’t punish a player for no reason. His denial only reinforces the perception that he is not accountable.
If I was an NFL GM I'd pick up the phone and call Coach Josh Heupel if I had questions about Jeremy Banks. While Heupel isn't likely to toss dirt on Banks publicly, a personal phone call is a personal phone call.

I've given some very frank opinions to people who called me about a potential employee that I would never have voiced publicly.

Always seemed to be some drama around him ever since he arrived on campus. I wish him the best of luck in the NFL and I am excited to see the next man step up in the linebacking corps.
Always? He had one incident as a freshman.

JB gives a little light on his USCe absence, not much, admittedly, but maybe more than we had.

Thank you for your time and for sharing your great talent with the University of Tennessee and its fans. We are thankful and wish you the best. Any rehashing will not change the S.C. score, so we will just move on and build on last year in a positive manner. We don’t need any negative energy or press from EX-VOLS. Thank you again.

Sorry Jeremy but NFL execs are going to require a little more clarity on the matter. Drama seems to follow you and that will certainly be a concern for them but good luck.

Were you in the locker room? Please tell us what you saw not what you heard.
What I heard came from reliable sources. I have posted details about the situation before. Heupel loves Hooker like a son. He let that cloud his judgement. Those are facts. Like them or not.

Banks had been a problem all season. The LB room with him and Mitchell was a mess. No one on the staff is disappointed both are gone.

The dude skip meetings and stuff like that. You can't do that sorry.

There's no chance in hell it was Heupel's feelings that got in the way over Jeremt Banks 😂 get real

Banks messed up admit it

I also don't hold it against him. I ain't perfect either and I loved Banks when he played here so I'm not biased one way or another.

But seriously? He's the only player out of 100+ over the last two years to get suspended a game and its Heupel's feelings that got in the way? Please.

Seems like Banks got dealt with more harshly because he has been a source of drama since he got on campus while Hooker never had any issues. In retrospect, yeah it did probably cost us but I don't think it's outlandish for Heupel to have gone harder on Banks than Hooker considering their past behavior.
