The JB Incident

The dude was notorious for running around like a chicken with his head cut off, getting lost in coverage and caught up in the wash. He made up for it by being a superior athlete, but he was always reacting.

Agreed. Great athlete and it showed up when he was a rusher or a spy.

P

He told a female doing a police ride along that where he was from they killed cops, that he never forgets a face, and he would see her around.

The second video I remember less about but it’s him and a woman yelling at each other outside of a night club. He’s threatening her and she’s saying she’ll report him to the coaching staff. It’s been longer since I’ve seen the second one so I may be slightly wrong on some of those details
To be fair, where he's from the police kill young black men.

That has nothing to do with this. If a cop were telling him “we kill people like you” the cop would be in the wrong. In this case Banks was clearly in the wrong and pathetically attempting to intimidate a young woman. It’s pathetic you even defend that

I agree. I hope he gets paid . . . but Al Wilson, he ain't.

Al Wilson was once in a lifetime, unless you're as old as me and remember Hacksaw.

Favorite Al story, a starting DL had started dogging it in practice and wasn't listening to coaches. Al has enough and goes up in his face inviting the guy (who outweighed him by about 75 lbs) to go out to the parking lot and discuss it. The DL declined and changed his behavior.

2nd favorite, Gamecocks come to Neyland with a highly rated dual QB (think his name was Wright) to play the Vols with Manning at QB. Evidently the SC staff had decided to hit Peyton often and after the whistle. One really late hit infuriated Wison and Leonard Little to the point where they were out of the field pointing and yelling. They were like rabid dogs. We punt, 2 plays later they carry the SC QB off the field with a broken leg after Wilson and Leonard sandwiched him.

How many young black men have the police killed in Cordova TN?

JB = Sraight outta Cordova

Got to give him props; he did reduce the penalities in his final year. I think he can get 2-3 years of pro ball...maybe

We still lose that game against SCAR decisively even if JB plays.
Maybe.

I don’t think the defense just “gave up” though either. I think we had injuries, talent issues, distraction, and a little give up amongst a few players as well. Carolina also wanted to win that game badly more badly than our defense wanted to. It was a beat down but never underestimate how much one play can change the whole game.

It's not defending it. It's pointing out that people have different experiences with law enforcement. Growing up in Memphis as a black man is different than almost anywhere else as a non-black man. Sure it was immature and wrong, but black mama's in Memphis worry everyday if their boys will make it home.

from cops and their fellow black man

Banks is going to be a stud.
8 year NFL starter Pro Bowl type player

You’re straight up defending it. Those mothers are worried their young man won’t come home because of the young men within their own neighborhood. It represents the majority of homicides within this country.

Good luck and good bye to JB.
Overrated at every position he ever played. Not saying he was bad, but the plays he didn't make (becauzse he was out of position and undisciplined in his decision making) are what cost us the 21 Ole Miss game, so we are even.
Lets not pretend Rattlor beat us that night because we were missing JBs stellar coverage skills.

Wish hum the best, but CJH didn't suspend him because of something insignificant. Remember he even had to earn his way back on to a CJP coached team full of cheating coaches, so he was always a wild card.
Banks might've been a bone head but he also made a lot plays in the Bama game, some that won't show up on a stat sheet. He got pressure on Bryce Young several times and caused bad throws that led to us getting the ball back. Like I said earlier, best of luck to him. I appreciate the plays he did make while playing. I'm ready to see Beasely and Pili.

Idk. I think LittleVol says something’s for shock value at times, maybe just hyperbole. D4H was legit insane as a bag of cats.

Apparently he’s still around too so I’m probably wrong. Just now looked him and he’s still posting a lot

Laughable. I would be happy for him if he played for five years even as a backup or scout team player.
If that happens it won't be because he wasn't athletically gifted enough.

A lot of folks like to rag on our defensive players, but defense is much harder to play these days.

I guess we'll see.
But J Banks always played with fire and never was injured.
Go ahead and laugh.

It takes a lot more than athleticism to live up to what you’re projecting. And even if it did. He’s 7th fastest this class. 7th isn’t pro bowl level. And that’s not including the multiple other classes he would be competing for that spot against

I hope that every Vol player drafted can last 4 years so they vest in their pension. Between that and the new pay floors that were in the last CBA, a marginal player can have some long term security. Look at Josh Dobbs, I believe he has vested now plus he made $1 million last year even after bouncing around 3 teams.
