Iām excited because I loved the Thrawn trilogy and was disappointed when it wasnāt put to film. I know he was in the cartoons but Iāve never seen them.
I really enjoy what theyāve done with this series.
Totally agree. Love that they are including some of the old canon that was discarded when Disney bought up Lucasfilms. I remember as a kid checking out all the Thrawn Trilogy books from my local library and they really sparked an interest in the star wars universe. Those books really brought back interest into star wars during that 16 year span between the Return of the Jedi and the Phantom Menace.
and even helped after Phantom Menace, well. Hayden Christensen, Jar Jar all that nonsense.Totally agree. The scene with Michael Biehn and Mando felt straight out of Tombstone. If Mando had dropped āIām your huckleberryā, I would have been okay with it lol.
So question for Expanded Universe guys, because as big of a SW fan I am I never really got into the EU. Or maybe this is answered in the various animated canon shows that I'm still working through (almost through S2 of Clone Wars).
Are there groups/people that are "Jedi "that aren't Jedi or Sith? Like people who can use the Force and can use lightsabers but aren't Jedi nor Sith, kind of in the middle so to speak or even just kind of their own thing? I'm going to guess the answer is yes but I've never really seen or heard about them if so. I've always thought that would be an interesting group or character to introduce, people who are as skilled as Jedi/Sith but don't pledge to either. And I don't really mean force sensitive people after the wiping out of the Jedi, I mean people who chose not to be Jedi but still became skilled like a Jedi.
So something I have been thinking about...Why wasn't baby yoda killed in the temple with all the other younglings by vader? If he is 50 would that put him in the temple as a newborn right around the time Vader was slaughtering all the other kids?
I have to say, I thought the season wasn't going to be great when they really focused on Frog Lady in one of the first two episodes.
All I can say is how wrong I am. That one episode was kinda meh, but the rest of the season has been completely badass. And they really are setting up an epic Season 3.
I was a little angry...
When they blew up the Razor Crest. Especially after it got rebuilt and looking in its full glory. C'mon man! Mando needs a good ship! Though Slave 1 certainly is badass in its own right so Mando's got a cool ride.
This really was the first time we saw Boba going full Mandalorian. It never really happened in Episode V or VI. Jango, save that scene with Obi-Wan in Ep II never really broke loose either. There's been a lot of fan faction about it over the years, but this is the first time we've seen it in live action living up to his true Mandalorian heritage.
However, Boba's looking a bit plump in that armor lol Shades of Rebels when Rex gets into that Stormtrooper armor. "You're taking him to the commissary?"
Interesting they brought back Fennec Shand. I had a feeling she wasn't going to be a one and done.
The whole episode really does have Robert Rodriguez's fingerprints all over it. It has this underlying Desperado feel to it.
It really didn't end the way I thought it would either. However, it's setting up something huge and I don't think they can't not do a Season 3.
But who did Baby Yoda make contact with? That's the real question.
I will add this...
They should have had Favreau and Filoni write, direct and produce Episodes VII-IX. I was not a fan of the next trilogy at all and they should set fire to Episode VIII and just claim the insurance on it. What Favreau and Filoni could have written into that after seeing almost two seasons of The Mandalorian would have been worthy of the Star Wars name.
