The Mandalorian

My opinion, the best arcs were the Mortis episodes, the invasion of Umbara and Invasion of Mandalore.
The Umbara arc is probably my favorite.
The finale season is great and the ending episode got me in the feels when a certain someone shows up.

Anyone looking for more Star Wars stuff after going through all the big screen content should check out the Vader Down graphic novel. Has some great/chilling stuff.

Vader get surrounded and told to stand down, his response, “All I’m surrounded by is fear and dead men” he then arms all the thermal detonators and kills everyone.

I gave the 2015(?) new series from Marvel a try. It was well done but had Luke confronting Vader shortly after the Battle of Yavin. It’s one of those things I don’t like that kinda tweaks that encounter from ESB that doesn’t sit well with me. So I didn’t keep going much after that.

I did give the second Vader series a try because I had heard so much about it. I believe the first arc was Vader getting his new lightsaber. Had to track down a Jedi and take theirs. Then make the kyber crystal “bleed” before constructing a new hilt. It was a solid story but I didn’t keep up after that.

I honestly hadn’t read that one, I started with Vader Down because I heard great things about it and I was able to find it at ollies for very cheap. It’s a great place to find comics and the black series figures if you collect them.

Rumors swirling that RDJ wants to get involved on season 3. He and Favreau are trying to come up with something.

Also Lucas was frequently on set for Season 2. He may be more involved in Season 3. Considering his relationship with Filoni I wouldn’t say that rumor is too far off base.

It's probably just wild internet rumors but I read on one site that Lucas is privately pushing to get his original idea for a sequel trilogy made, or at least a version of it.

Got a link? I'm curious what he was looking at.

I can't find the original article I read as it was a link from Facebook that I was reading on my phone, but I did a Google search and I think I found a similar article and I think I was reading an old article. This one is from 6 months ago and has about as much info as a typical Vol football coach rumor link. So I'd say it's probably a bunch of BS.

effing great. gotta work in Jar Jar somehow.

Seriously, just leave it be George. Someone finally has your vision. Let them create.

i remember my first time.

Kidding Joe. Hope you liked it.

Am I the only one bummed about Lucas being back in SW?

I'm skeptical about it. If he learned from the prequels then I can go along with it. But my fear is the backlash for the sequel trilogy created this weird revisionist history where people now act like the prequels were better than they were and thus he will come in and make the same mistakes he did last time. I'm not a big fan of the sequels but they didn't make me think the prequels were any better. They were as bad to me for completely different reasons.

Not the first place I heard this:

A Civil War's Reportedly Brewing At Lucasfilm Over The Direction Of Star Wars

The prequels were not bad from a story perspective. Horrid acting and TPM certainly left a lot to be desired. But in combination with The Clone Wars, it certainly helps a lot. You get to see why Anakin moved to the dark side rather than trying to cram it in within 2 hours of movie.

I'm okay with Lucas being involved in the way things move along. And I'd really like to know his private thoughts on the sequel trilogy. In public, he has praise, but I'd bet privately, he's not happy with what they did in screwing up the franchise.

Anyway, Lucas pretty much gave Filoni free range with TCW and let him "expand" the universe when he still had control of the franchise. I think he realizes Favreau and Filoni are being loyal to the franchise instead of seeing it like a cash cow.

There was a good story to be told in the prequels but execution wasn’t great. When you compare that to the visionless mess of the sequels you realize what Lucas was bringing to his franchise.

The prequels suffered from being 100% Lucas writing and directing. He needed an editor and someone to reign in the self indulgence. Enter Filoni on Clone Wars.

The Sequels suffered from no overall story guidance and a kooky plan to hand off each film to a different writer/director. I know I’m in the minority as a TLJ defender but I fully acknowledge the problems of the middle film’s director not wanting to pick up many of the story threads established by the first director. Then the subsequent back peddling and all the backstage drama of the third installment.

That’s why I wouldn’t mind Lucas being involved as a consultant. A voice to lean on for ideas and general direction. I don’t want him solely in charge of writing or directing.

It’s obvious Filoni took the baton from Lucas. Favreu has the live action filmmaking experience to take Filoni to the next level.
