The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

I stated very clearly that Trump only used it as a threat and a way to inflame his base.
He was lying and he knew he was lying. And he knew much of his base was to dumb to hold him accountable.
The last thing Trump ever wanted to do was prosecute a political adversary because he knew he was more guilty than all of them combined.
He played the fools for fools. It worked, until it finally and gloriously bit him in the a$$.

but Trump himself has been prosecuted since being elected, actual legal prosecution. The Russiagate investigation was BS and instigated by oppo research from a political opponent and now someone who campaigned on getting him brought ridiculous charges.

for all your fear about Trump's abuse of power more has been directed at him than he ever could or did dish out but you see him as the danger and shrug off the political prosecutions of him. you said he could have easily followed through (though no evidence exists) but his political opponents HAVE followed through

as you like to say, I have my suspicions about why you think that.

Anti-Trump Justin Amash Slams Alvin Bragg’s Indictment

Former Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, a noted anti-Trump Republican who later switched over to the Libertarian Party, slammed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s indictment of the former president, calling it flimsy and dubious.

“After reading DA Bragg’s indictment of Trump and accompanying statement of facts, I’m stunned any prosecutor would move forward with this. It’s even flimsier than we were led to believe. Thirty-four stacked counts, bootstrapped to an unstated crime, to manufacture felony charges,” he tweeted.

Well he did try to overturn a free and fair presidential election. Not many things could be a greater abuse of power.

But my fear of Trump was never about "an abuse of power", it was that he would sow the seeds of hatred, increase the divide, and make us a much dumber nation. Crazy me.

It is the silo thinking that they have for all issues generated by the DNC's daily email talking points that they absorb from the NYT, CNN, MSNBC, etc.

I can't help but wonder if this whole thing is a scheme to boost Trump to the top of the Republican ticket, knowing that if he wins the nomination, he gives Democrats the best chance to win in 2024.

I have always thought that and it is also why the happenings in NY are not a big deal to me. For every voter Trump brings to the table it will bring >1 voter for the other D candidate in the general. With that being said, I will vote for Trump if he is the R candidate against Biden. I will also vote for a spare tire against Biden.
