Report on the Biden LaptopNo, Biden and Trump don't deserve to "share a cell." An absurd, ludicrous statement. Trump deserves jail--probably--because facts. Convictions, indictments--and more to come. Biden...nothing. All the Biden blather is just that--conspiracy nonsense. FACT.
We don't know who leaked the tape. I disagree that it hurts Trump. It gives him a chance to spin it any way he wants for the next few months without having to take the stand.the point I was making is that the government broke the law by leaking the audio to the press (not sure who else could have leaked it) presumably to help their case against him.
such leaking is clearly problematic if you believe in a fair justice system.
We know who leaked it. Trump's lawyer nailed it... It was too taint the jury pool and he doesn't say the document he is showing isn't declassified..We don't know who leaked the tape. They’re not charging him with espionage, they charged him with willful retention of defense documents, which is a criminal charge defined in 18 USC 793(e). 793 is within a set of statutes titled “The Espionage Act.”slightly unrelated - what do you think merits an espionage charge or is that just over charging to make sure they get the other charges.
I think someone in the DOJ leaked the audio recording because they believe that Trump has destroyed the classified material concerning what a hypothetical invasion of Iran would involve - which Trump was describing in the recording.the point I was making is that the government broke the law by leaking the audio to the press (not sure who else could have leaked it) presumably to help their case against him.

I'm not saying it's right .... but it shouldn't bother you as much as what Trump did. He knowingly revealed classified information to people who did not have the clearance to see it. He even tells them that it was "highly classified" and that he can no longer declassify it. He goes as far as to tell these people that what he is telling them is "off the record," and "secret." That's a consciousness of guilt. He is doing something that he knows he shouldn't be doing. He does this out of spite for one person - Mark Milley.
Things are bad when "It was bravado," is the only defense you've got. When has Trump ever given ground like that before? He knows he's in trouble here.
The DOJ leaking the recording should send chills down everybody's spine. Trump is unfit to be president and I think most people know that and it should be easy for the DOJ to prove him guilty without trying to taint the jury pool.
Regardless of who leaked it ... Trump's legal team has a tough defense ahead of them.Lol. You have no proof they leaked it. But I know DOJ bad, Trump victim.

That audio recording is shocking in so many ways. Trump even makes a joke about Hillary Clinton's e-mails being sent to Anthony Weiner. In doing so, he basically acknowledges his own past hypocrisy concerning the mishandling of classified material.
Agree. But the leak of it is not a minor issue, it's a blatant attempt at trying the case in the court of public opinion and tainting the jury pool. The DOJ shouldn't stoop to such levels.
You assume it was the DOJ that leaked it. Got any proof?
And there's this: https://thehill.com/homenews/media/...ve-leaked-audio-in-classified-documents-case/
If Trump had leaked that audio, I think it would have been more carefully edited to cherry-pick the comments. Some of his comments are incredibly damning. He makes it clear that he realizes that he is describing the content of documents that have not been declassified, and that he should not be discussing them with the people of the room he is in. Even a woman in the room understands that what he is doing is wrong ... and she has been interviewed. You assume it was the DOJ that leaked it. Got any proof?

I say it's a safe bet that the DOJ leaked it.
And since when did you consider Fox News a reliable source?

They were just speculating. It ultimately would have been released anyway as part of the criminal case, its not confidential or privileged in any way.
You assume that Trump would view what was said as damning. He's in such an alternative universe mindset, constantly changing his story and revising his argument that I'm not sure he is capable of viewing it rationally.
I guarantee you that Smith is busting his tail to find out who leaked it. If it's one of his people, he's going to end their career.
