I remember arguing with you over RP not being able to sell his message, he wasn't a salesman. I don't remember much about us arguing over Amash, I think it was something to do with him voting present quite a bit.

Do you not think that what Dems did to him was also “destructive to our democracy”? The way he was treated even from before he took office went against everything that had been done previously. Respecting the office, if not the man, went out the window. Granted, he made himself an easy target but Dems could’ve taken the high road. Instead, we got spying and one investigation after another despite a lack of evidence that led to impeachments. On top of that you’d get your stupid shenanigans like Pelosi tearing up the speech. I can agree Trump is not good for this country but to say Dems weren’t as destructive is not accurate to me. Don’t get me started on other things like the Kavanaugh hearings. The fact is most, if not all, politicians will lie, cheat and steal to keep and grow power.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. This quote is somewhat accurate to the Dem response to drumpf. He did and does things that are so culturally opposite of what politicians are supposed to do that it brings out the crazy reactions. Drumpf and some people new to politics, don't understand loyal opposition. The job of the opposite party is to oppose the party in power. He took it personal, and made it personal nstead of understanding its politics.

Dems have been somewhat destructive, by playing on Drumpf's level. Definitively not as destructive. I know, I will be accused of being a partisan hack. Drumf's handling of the 2024 election is single handedly the worst thing for democracy since the civil war. Dems should have picked better fights and then finished the fight. There was and are plenty of easy wins.

The most positive things that I can say about drumpf is that he has brought out the worst in politics. In fairness to him, it was somewhat there but he forced it on the front page news. For the lack of a better term, politics was more of a gentleman's game prior to 2016. Not that politics were good before him but he brought in a jerry springer aspect.

Now the biggest loser is a conservative republican. Those in office keep trying to ride his coat tails in office. Probably not going to work anymore. The republican party needs to grow up, stop waiting on the legal system and take care of their drumpf problem.

Also, I don't think trials or jail will stop drumpf. He needs to lose again, to make it clear that his antics are no longer needed.
