I can see that. Long term thinking, doing what was right......didn't go over well with many. Plus we can't really ignore the great white flight.....and not just from neighborhoods impacted by desegregation.

This is a Rubicon event. There is no going back. There will never be any cooperation between the two political parties again.

I think the accusation is that this was done for political reasons and therefore the payment should have been made with campaign funds and/or disclosed as a campaign contribution.

woof. that seems like a steep thing to prove that will turn into a "he said/she said" argument real fast. I doubt there is going to be anything coming close to a "reason" in any of the actual legal language used.
