Valid points.Just curious, to what degree is it "worth" arresting Trump if things end up not mostly peaceful? You can apply whichever end result you want, he is found guilty, or he is found innocent.
Is 130k of campaign financing worth the fallout? The political division in this country, and the pending violence? Someone mentioned 16 people and 2 billion in the peaceful protests. Is that worth 130k?
If you care about this country you find some quiet way to make this go away without sending Trump to jail or even prison. Confine him to house arrest for forever, make him pay a huge fine, and slap him with a felony so he cant run(that's the whole goal of this anyway). But dont send him to jail.
There are 100 ways this ends, 99 of them make things worse, and I have a feeling we are looking at one of the worst worse options of that 100
You speak on accountably of the GOP, but when a sitting president had to pay 850k to Paula Jones to settle or Monica Lewinsky...the GOP impeached. It the the Dems controlled Senate that failed to prosecute setting the tone that the behavior was ok...so a private citizen paying another person seems like a private matter unless he used campaign finances or was in officeThere is a shameful lack of accountability from Republicans being directed toward Trump for his role in this situation. This wasn't a media creation. Donald Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen, wrote a stripper/porn star Daniels/Clifford a $130,000 check, payable under the condition that she sign a non-disclosure agreement less than one month before the 2016 Presidential Election. None other than Michael Cohen has testified to this before the grand jury.
... and yet, this is all just a "witch hunt", with Donald Trump being an innocent victim of overzealous, prosecutorial misconduct? Sure thing. Trump had no part in this situation at all.
The only people who will see Trump in a sympathetic light over this situation are the people who would never consider voting for anyone else.Beware, you are about to make Trump a martyr.
Be careful of what you wish for. You just might get it.
good news.Oh, I see it. But it's because the right made "family values" one of their many catch phrases with underlying meaning. The right constantly ridicules the values of the left, they just don't use the term "family values".
Gary Hart was forced out of a race for less than what Trump has done. You speak on accountably of the GOP, but when a sitting president had to pay 850k to Paula Jones to settle or Monica Lewinsky...the GOP impeached. It the the Dems controlled Senate that failed to prosecute setting the tone that the behavior was ok...so a private citizen paying another person seems like a private matter unless he used campaign finances or was in office
I see you selectively didn't understand. "Family Values" is a term co-opted by the right, so obviously it will be used more in reference to the right. The left is mocked by the right for their lack of values. I know it's subtle, but the difference is there.@hog88
good news.
Rs arent the only politicians mocked for family values. But it's their own fault when they are.
Here's a mental exercise maybe worth taking:Lets Go..this is gonna be great
Here's a mental exercise maybe worth taking:
You ask 1,000 randomly selected republicans, "Do you feel that the democratic party is trying to destroy America?"
You ask 1,000 randomly selected democrats, "Do you feel that the republican party is trying to destroy America?"
What would be your estimates of the the results?
Republicans: _______% would answer yes.
Democrats: _______% would answer yes.
Why don't you just provide your estimates? It's just an opinion. Good grief, you guys are so scared to dig down a layer.
Lecture? Asking people to form an opinion and then consider what that opinion reflects is lecturing?15% each.
If it was just an opinion you wouldn't have had to lecture all the political rivals that they need to soul search about why they are so worse than your team. Good grief indeed.
