The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

This is probably the greatest legal explanation regarding everything Trump did before and after Jan 6th. This is from a former lawyer of his, and he’s incredibly fair with his explanations.

I can easily visualize Jack Smith in place of Roland Freisler (center) in this picture.

You've got it backwards, Ace. Jack Smith is working to uphold our rule of law. The gangster does not respect the rule of law--he's shown that time and time and time again over the course of his corrupt career--but you'd have to be a sentient human being, I guess, to understand that.

These people sound totally rational and reasonable

"Eighteen percent (18%) of Democrats support the harshest punishments for Trump, with 12% saying he should get life in prison if found guilty, four percent (4%) wanting him to be exiled and two percent (2%) in favor of the death penalty."

finished it for you

The SCOTUS declined to rule on the matter of Trump’s immunity from suit and legal action for his actions while in office. They’re allowing it to move through the appeals process (lower court declared Trump not immune).

Honestly, they don’t want to touch this with a 10 foot pole just as they didn’t want to wade into the lawsuit brought by Texas against Pennsylvania illegally changing their voting laws.

It may be appealed to the SCOTUS if the appeals court upholds the lower court ruling. If that happens, they’ll have to accept or decline the appeal.

I think they are hoping the election will happen before they make any decision. This is the kind of ruling that will tear a country apart forever no matter which way they go.

I agree they are hoping the election will happen before they are forced to make a decision.
The SC's credibility as well as Bush's Presidency was damaged by the Gore-Bush results.

Just another Constitutional Institution that Trump has caused to come to the forefront.
Part of his plan of making America Great by ruining the country his way of which there is no part of the Govt holding the President accountable. His is Self Serving.

Neither Party gains any ground with Biden and Trump in charge.
The Republican Party has drifted into an area they have never been and does not know how to manage the Chaos Trump has created. In Contrary, the Democrats have lived in it, in some form or fashion since the 60s.

Just pathetic and a sad state of affairs.

It takes real Trump derangement to blame this on Trump. The President/Executive has never been held accountable in modern history, except possibly Nixon but the SCOTUS has mostly bent over backwards the last few decades to PROTECT the Executive from accountability.

What is most interesting is if the SCOTUS will reverse course because it is Trump and leave the Executive vulnerable.

Who would have thought that the next civil war would be set off by states destroying the concept of free elections by barring presidential candidates from the ballot while using remnants of the first civil war to do so. It seems to fly in the face of everything this country once stood for.

The 14th Amendment is a piece of trash resulting from Reconstruction and forced partially by requiring the states who seceded to ratify as part of the process to rejoin the US - seems weird to fight a war saying you can't officially secede, but then requiring a process to get back in. The POS amendment is the one that deals with a couple of our biggest problems - citizenship by birth (anchor babies) rather than by parentage and recognition of public debt. It should be known as the "Damn Yankee Amendment" due to it's nature and origin.

Everyone here seems immune to the fact Trump Team is desperately exhausting every maneuver known to man to the courts. His behavior isn't indicative of someone who is innocent
