The difference between hitting a green from 150 yards & holing a shot from 250 should be self explanatory. Because he had to curve the ball some act like its miraculous. Hell he curves every shot. Hooking the ball from a clean lie is not a hard feat. He's gonna pull that shot off more often than not.
What was each attempting to do? People put shots close on #2 all day doing exactly what Oosty did. His hit exactly right and went in. Improbable? Hell yes. He wasn't trying to hole it though. He landed close to where he wanted with a straight shot that got the right bounce and roll. That should be self explanatory.
If I bounced one off the cart path, hit a tree and it went in then it would be a miracle shot but hardly a great shot. Oosty hit a great shot that did much more than he expected.
Bubba worked a shot for a 40 yard turn over 160 yards with the game on the line to hit the green with a possible birdie putt.
If Oosty needed a alby to win it would have been the greatest shot in the history of golf. As it was, it was a great shot early in the day that got even better because it went in.
You do realize Bubba hits that shot all the time & he does it from the tee & middle of the fairway. Maybe not 40 yards but pretty damn close.
Oh I see, Bubba hits a curve ball every shot so one more is no big deal. Watching Oosty it appears he hits the ball straight nearly every shot so his was pretty routine too.
Turns out neither shot was much to get excited about.
It was a nice shot but it's a shot he pulls off every time he plays. It's how he plays. Yes both shots were awesome but you don't see a double eagle everyday whereas the other you see all the time.
