The Masters Tournament

When you hit medium irons into greens from the first cut & the ball sits beside its pitch mark it's not playing very firm. A lot of guys said the greens seemed slower than normal too. Not a guy in the top 20 that's "short off the box".

Reading his post again, I'm not sure what he meant now.

My point is that if the course played long today, it's going to play longer tomorrow when the fairways are wet.

I really hope he proves me wrong, but Guan made 3s at 10 and 18 hitting fairway woods. That's a tough way to get around.

They can manipulate the greens anyway they want to with that airflow system they have in all the green complexes. After today's scores, I predict a bloodbath tomorrow with pin placements and a stretched out course. I can't imagine them sitting idly by and having the second round leaders already in double digits under par as if they're playing the Bob Hope Desert Classic.

The fairways were playing pretty normal but the greens were very soft & holding pretty much any shot, no firmness at all to them. If it rains any overnight, & I'm sure it has, they will do like you said & tuck some pins & suck all the water they can out of them. That will open it up for the big hitters then & we'll see some attrition.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I wouldn't mind if Sergio won this just to put him out of his misery.

Looks like they got about a quarter of an inch of rain, so nothing too severe last night. We'll see how much it slows down the fairways.

Is there some sort of law I'm not aware of that says you have to open every Masters report and telecast with slow elevator music in the background as we see a shot of a tree, azalea or bridge and somebody speaking poetically.

Ain't that the truth, they need to kick it off with some Chevelle or Disturbed, then maybe a few comments from Denis Leary

Serenity now! Serenity now!

read an article about how the pimento cheese sandwiches are different now. It was pretty cool. Augusta can't figure out the right recipe after they let go the restaurant that used to make all the food.

Saw that last night. Great read. I'll try and find a link.

Is he gonna miss the cut as a result?

At +3, he'd be safely in without the penalty. Now he's right on the cut line. Given the high scores so far, I'd bet on the cut moving back to +5, so he's still got a good shot of making it.

Wow.... A 14 year old speaking his second language just gave one of classiest answers I've ever heard.
