That's the question you need to answer.
I already know it would be a much better system because it would require candidates to concern themselves with all states, not just purple states.
If you do not think it would be better, it's kind of on you to state why................or not.

They could say it is but it will be backed by nothing really. They will not allow you to exchange your bric paper currencies for their stores of physical gold or rare earth metals. And they will continue to manipulate their currencies as any other country does. Largely meaningless imo.

Although a large exodus from dollar usage by smaller counties with larger adversarial countries is something that concerned me years ago.

You dont think a currency backed by a commodity is better than a currency backed by the a gov that only relies on the full faith and credit and is $31T in debt?

Not really. Because China can say their currency is backed by gold but are they going to follow the rules of what that means and makes it relevant? Are they going to peg their currency to an oz of gold and maintain that? Are you going to be able to take 10000 yuan paper and go to a Chinese govt agency and say give me 10000 yuan worth of physical gold? Are they going to limit their money supply to the amount of gold/rare earth metals they have on hand?

No. They’re going to manipulate their currencies and do what they want. They will continue to print money as they think is needed.

You get mob rule with a democracy. You do not get mob rule with a republic. A republic is set up so that 51 percent of the people cannot take the rights of the other 49 percent.

The "new" model that you are longing for is democracy. You concern yourself with heavy campaigning in purple areas now, but with democracy you would get heavy campaigning only in and near large cities. Chicago, NYC, LA, Houston, Atlanta, Boston, St Louis, ect, would have all the power.

Biden certainly deserves that, but in reality, Harris may be even worse. Also, Biden and his whole clown show administration are weak and an easy target for defeat in 2024. Probably better for the Republicans that the Biden/Harris sh!t show continue for another 2 years, or wait to impeach him the summer/fall before the next election.

You missed the whole point.
I'm not advocating the removal of the electoral college.
A vote in Wyoming will still carry the weight of "8" in California.
The unpopulated states will still have disproportionally more electoral college votes......not a democracy!!!
Two states already to it.
The main result would be that a candidate would be motivated to campaign in every state....not just purple states.
How is that a bad thing?
