The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

This article is indicative of the prescription drug problem plaguing our country or meth or crack or whatever else this loon is on.

What Don Yates doesn't understand, or appreciate, is that Vanderbilt has found themselves in a textbook "right place at the right time" period in their athletic history. Name another time in SEC history in which UT, UGA, and UF were all this bad at the same time? Vanderbilt's "success" has a lot more to do with a laughable OOC schedule and the big three being down, than with actual football prowess. UT could forfeit the next 50 games against Vandy and STILL have a series lead. I think it's adorable that they believe this, I really do, it's going to make beating them much more enjoyable from here on out, because in the past I just didn't really lend any importance to the game. And why would I when Vandy has only managed 4 wins against UT since 1980? At least Kentucky appreciated their win over UT for what it was, something that doesn't happen often and should be appreciated.

Oh and while I'm at it, you can thank UT for the rise of Tennessee HS football in the past 20 years. You can also thank UT for making the state of Tennessee a draw for an NFL franchise. Vandy owns nothing in the state that Neyland built.

It's a common topic over at the Vandy forum.

They seem convinced that our football and basketball teams are LOADED with talent, like Alabama level in football and Kentucky level in basketball.

The comedy is that, in the self inflated ego world that Vandy Fan resides in, UT beating a Vandy Bball team who has 7 scholarship players ranks as THE season highlight over beating a Top 5 Virginia team...ya know, because they are Vandy.

I had to laugh when I read the article, and it did make me curious after his closing records for his argument. He shows the head-to-head 4 sport record for the current academic year as being 3-2 and assumes a sweep for baseball, at least a series win. So I looked back 12 years in each sport and came up with the head-to-head 4 sport records for each academic year, and his argument becomes even more asinine. I included all match-ups, including postseason.

2012 4-4
2011 5-4 UT
2010 5-3 UT
2009 6-3 UT
2008 8-0 UT
2007 5-4 UT
2006 5-5
2005 6-2 UT
2004 5-4 UT
2003 5-3 UT
2002 5-3 UT
2001 7-2 UT

Yes, that article was funny but he's no worse than a majority of UT or any other school's fans. UT has won squat on the fields or courts in forever and were popping champagne bottles over a football recruiting class. Yates is just make the Vandy supporters feel better no matter how stupid that article was.

You want to see delusion? Then look no further than this "article" by none other than Don Yates. What a complete idiot.

In case he hasn't noticed, our baseball team may not exactly be a pushover anymore. I wouldn't be counting those chickens before they hatched.

O...M...G...

Please Butch, please. I know you appear to be a coach that wouldn't run up the score on another team, but please if you are reading this, for the love of everything holy and sacred for the State of Tennessee, don't stop passing. And even with a lopsided score in the 4th quarter, continue to go for the two point conversions and the onside kicks.

For the Big Orange, please stomp a mudhole in Vanderbilt and let the score be one for the record books. For crying out loud, let our score be double digits and something starting with 7 or 8. Please make their players leave the field thinking they were just a victim of something out of the Book of Revelations and would give considerable thought to never stepping on a football field again.

Consider this an official request from the residents of Tennessee and the team you lead in our name.

That man did exactly what he intended to do, rile up Tennessee fans. It's no different than Franklin putting our logo upside down or talking trash about owning the state. Tennessee fans need to ignore all the Vandy pettiness and make them feel more irrelevant than we already feel they are.

Yep. I bet whenever there's a big anti-UT thread on VM, the # of visitors quadruples because of the handful of curious Vols fans who want to read it.

Nah, I think the idiot actually believes his own stupidity.

Speaking of Vandy, here's the crowd shot at tipoff of Senior Night, courtesy of @EmptySeatsGalore:

Just spent the past week at Vandy hospital (wife had a transplant) and it was big news - Brandenburg stating that the truth will come out and he will be cleared of charges. Total BS when the DA has film of what happened.

I hope that all went well. Best wishes to both of you. :hi:

Hey Don Yates,

UT's men finished 4th in the SEC in hoops and on a 4 game winning streak. Poor ol' Vandy finished 11th and on a 4 game losing streak. Have fun in Atlanta playing on Wed and Thu while we watch with the double bye. Meanwhile, UT's women finished 2nd in the SEC and just won the SEC tourney. Poor ol' Vandy's women finished with a losing record in the SEC and 8th and lost in the second round of the SEC tourney.

Oh, and the UT men's baseball team just won the weekend series at 24th ranked Arizona St 2-1 to go to 14-1 on the year. Maybe you need to update that article. LMAO.

Nah dude, our basketball teams are petty much on even footing with Vandy's since we split the series. And when you consider our teams are more talented than theirs, splitting the series means Vandy actually won. Can't argue that.

Also, their baseball team is pretty much as good as the Red Sox, so that's a guaranteed sweep. And we all know that David Shaw is a defensive genius, and we will be lucky to get 10 yards of offense in November.

Damn, Vandy sure owns us Viles.

Vandy will be one and done in the SEC tourney after Wednesday night's loss.

And I am sure the vandymoronia posers figure that they are the league darling and get to play in the featured early games.

Vandymania should be funny this season when Vandy is fighting it out with Kentucky for last place.:D
