The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

Fair enough. What's the answer?

Yes. There are those that think It was okay for them to chase him down and they think it was just unfortunate that he was killed, but that's the price you pay for going onto someone else's property.

It was a house under construction that was open. Oh, and for your information the homeowner released a video and he stated nothing was removed, defaced or broken.
That has nothing to do with my response. People in here were acting like it was a new construction home where everyone was just looking through the house to see all the latest designs.

I would assume some contractors leave tools and building supplies overnight depending on what is being done.

And if so it would look like any other construction site. The presence of tools wouldn't clarify a new build from a massive remodel.

Again, I'm not sure that would have been obvious to anyone that wasn't familiar with the neighborhood.

I don't buy the whole jogging story, so it isn't worth trying to argue that point with me.
I don’t either but apparently he was no stranger to the neighborhood. My whole point is that people are taking small bits of information, adding their own biases to them, and then reaching conclusions that fit their preconceived notions. I will wait for more facts to come out but if you are arguing about something at least make sure you know what you are really arguing about.

You're correct. I'm sure there are many out there that feel that way. I hope you're not concluding that I fall into that group.

Feds tend to move slowly, but they are very methodical. Next big news will be the beginning of the "aftershocks".

JMO. I'm on the outside looking in. Georgia Governor / AG might move first.

And it looks like Dennis Perry will get his day in court, again. Maybe they get it right this time.

Apologies if I missed a thought from you.

Best way in the world to turn a jury pool in favor of the defense. Honestly, do they not know how much damage they are doing?

Don't disagree that they have a right to protest and bear arms. However, it comes across as an intimidation tactic against that neighborhood and/or it's residents that had absolutely nothing to do with Arbery's death. The perps have been arrested (as they should have been) and charged accordingly. Maybe they should have held this protest in front of the DA's office that sat on this for two months before getting turned over to the GBI?

Wonder what would have happened had someone run at that guy in the front and physically tried to take control of his rifle from him?

Bad idea, escalating the racial tensions in this neighborhood.

I did see that he said that. It does make me wonder why he had set up the cameras to alert him of someone in the house. I wouldn't think that to be normal. He even contacted another neighbor to check on it based on the alert.

Is it okay to be inside a house under construction?
Ain't a felony

Its obvious that criminals are stupid, so for that alone Arbery was stupid for going in the house. No argument there, but if he hadn't gone in the house we probably wouldn't be having this discussion so that's kinda redundant.

So other than the stupidity that caused the guys to get involved, what did he do that was in fact stupid?
I guess they thought they were Starsky and Hutch or something.... beats me....I think most reasonable people would have called the cops if they were concerned. What did Arbery do that was stupid? I think going after a man with a shotgun pointed at you is pretty dumb.
No one that I’ve discussed this with has even remotely tried to defend the McMichaels. Those guys ....at least the shooter.... will do time.

In what context was that said? A house under construction it's very common for people to go in a look around unless the builder puts up a no trespassing sign and it's usually invited if it's for sale. Generally of the houses I see being built once it is framed and the doors and windows are on it it gets locked and the subs have keys to get in when they need to. There is also very little to steal since copper plumbing is all but gone and things like AC units are not installed until it is sold.
But you’re not Ricky..... he was raised all proper like and respects everyone’s property and what not.... unless he thinks there might be a joint in their car...... then it’s ok to do whatever he wants

Was he trying to illegally detain them or make an illegal citizen's arrest? Had he followed them around the neighborhood? In other words, it's a stupid comparison because the situations aren't comparable. But you know that. You're attempting to be a smart ass, but failing at it.

Better question is what is the guys intent. I realize he may be within his rights but what is the intent. Two wrongs don't make a right.

What are you even talking about? When did I say that

I'm not trying to do anything. Just wondering if the guy in the picture would have patience and understanding to let someone he doesn't know charge him and grab his rifle without firing.

I agree with Vol737. If they want to protest like that great, but doing so in the neighborhood? Seems like a bad idea. People living there could get the wrong idea.
