The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

White on white crime is a national epidemic. 90% of white people are victimized by white people. Every race is about the same.

All I have to do is look at the newspaper or tv or Twitter or history.

I think you're conflating two different observations. The majority of crimes are against those you are around most so of course you'll see overall numbers grouped accordingly.

What I think was being pointed out is the much higher rates between those groups. I just looked at a stat where the homicide rate for black males in 2016 was 38 per 100K vs 5 per 100K for white males. I'd consider that a significant difference.

It doesn't matter what the conversation is about, he eventually, if not immediately, goes there.

Note that he skipped over, or ignored my post #2624. Doesn't fit his narrative.

I'll stand on my statement.

It is income and location not race. When income and population density are similar crime rates are the same across different races.

No I got his point with his "black on black crime" bs.

There is no such thing as black on black crime. Its just crime. Not unless white crime is white on white crime.

It piqued my curiosity so I dove a bit deeper. Per the CDC homicide was the #1 killer among non-hispanic blacks aged 1-19(35.3%) and 20-44(27.6%) in 2017. For non-hispanic whites homicide was #4(5.2%) and #5(2.8%).

I'd say the numbers back your stance.

You're conflating again. The observation being made is that 30% of black deaths in males between 1 and 44 is far more than any group tracked by the CDC. (Including whites, Native American/Alaskan, Asian or Hispanic)

The "why" isn't nor need be part of the observation. (Unless that is specifically set aside for such purpose)

Well that settles it. The expert on the black community has spoken. lmao

Not surprised you are taking up for some racist murderers.
You’re right I know nothing about the issues that plague the black community. That’s why I know black families who suffer in those areas of Knoxville because of the problem makers. And they also agree on why the same problems continue to cycle. I have seen it three generations myself and about to be a fourth as 16 yr old gangbangers get shot just like their daddy and granddaddy did

Wow look at you. You rode through the hood once and you know a black guy or two. Congratulations. You now are an expert on the black community apparently. You also know more than people who have lived and studied it. You are some super brain genius like Trump I guess. lol

Correlation is not causation buddy.

You are completely ignorant of or blind to the systemic issues that cause violence worldwide and in America.

Rode thru the hood once? Lmao I did more than that. I’m guessing I never saw you at the Malibu 7 because you are probably a lot younger. But the issues of the black community are not systemic unless you are referring to be stuck at KCDC housing.
-70-80% of black families without a father in the house
-Refusal to root out gang influences in the community
-lagging behind other communities in making education and hard work a top priority
-blames “systemic racism” for issues and blindly votes one way no Matter what

Also anyone who actually ever went to the Boo would not call it malibu7. lmao

I wouldn’t GO to it outside of shutting it down. I did see a pregnant 16 yo old get shot one night the East Side Boyz were there

Exactly. Just as i thought . If you went it was as a cop or security guard. I'm sure that being someone who went and also knows the owners and most of the patrons would have more intimate knowledge of the mindset of that crowd.

You don't have any idea of what you are talking about. You have no leg to stand on to debate me or any black person about what black people think or teach. You are ignorant of it. That is just a fact. You did not grow up in a black household or community.

So why don’t you tell me what is the biggest issues are then in your opinion?

Settle down there, Huey; surely you recognize that this sad, heavy-handed attempt at racial separatism would work both ways.

There’s no way you thought this one through before hitting that send button . That blade is sharp and it cuts both ways .

Now you can sit back and watch Greg's defense team slowly but surely try to create "distance" between what Greg did, and what Travis did.
Noticed that in an article I read. Greg's lawyers kept stressing "he did not" with no mention whatsoever of Travis. Father might be ready to throw son under the bus to save his own ass.

If it's all just crime, then "hate" crimes shouldn't exist.

FTR, I've heard plenty of leaders in the black community condemn the high rate of black on black crime. Are they wrong as well? I actually agree that crime is crime and race shouldn't matter, but common sense says you can't ignore such an obvious problem. I'd like to say I have answers, but I don't.

Horrible argument. MLK wasn't white, does that mean his message couldn't resonate with white people? Personally, I think you make too much out of skin color. At the end of the day, we're all still people. The idea that people cannot understand each other, care for one another, or help each other is part of what keeps racism so alive in this country. And it comes from both sides. Most people don't carry hate in their heart. Most people, IMO, want to help, want to change the world for the better, but they have no idea how.

You cannot. At least not in our generation, or likely the one to follow. I read a very interesting article about a year ago, and I don't remember where, that talked about how the African-American community essentially had two full generations of males in prison or dead, and that as a result, the streets were raising the next two generations. Single mothers, gangs become their family, etc. Took me a while to get through the standard "they brought this on themselves" mentality to start to see that we all own this problem.

We can debate that subject, and the Arbery shooting, from A to Z and it won't change the simple fact that for whatever faults he may have had...for whatever previous criminal acts he may have committed...the circumstances of his death are obvious to any unbiased observer, and demand simple, unbiased justice.

Take away the skin color, and let justice be blind, for once.
What’s your take on the video from the point where Arbery runs around the truck and confronts the guy holding the shotgun..... until he’s shot and falls in the road?
