The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

If they’re acquitted it will be another Rodney King episode.... possibly worse
Are they going to set the lighthouse on fire? I don't see St. Simons being naturally conducive to rioting. There are probably very few places in GA where that sort of thing would not be met with force way beyond a few Korean shopkeepers. or would you foresee that triggering events in other places where it has been tolerated in the past?

I was thinking about how the Black Panthers showed up the other day. .... and that it could spark in another or numerous metropolitan areas

Let's hope not here, or at all. But if they do, they will find the response they get from the Georgia State Patrol to be considerably less enjoyable than what they experienced in Missouri.

I thought armed protestors were allowed now, thanks to our friends up in Michigan.

Tricky ground. You have the 2A crowd, and I get it. You have the NBPP as well, and I don't get it, but if Group A can open carry, then you have to allow Group B as well. It's only an issue in open carry states, which I get as well. I'm a strong 2A believer, and I own several weapons; am an LEO; have my WCL; and am armed 24/7. What you won't see me do is show up for the news cameras with an AR slung and a .45 on my hip. That's not why I own guns.

My opinion would be that if you feel the need to walk or drive down a street for any given cause, while openly armed...you are just asking for something bad to happen.

Rings a bell , does it not?

It’s definitely a reach on the charge. I can understand being an accomplice to murder but to outright charge him with murder will not end up well.
I can see the false imprisonment angle if they think he was boxing Arbery in. But it seems nutty to charge a guy with murder who was 50 yards away and filming everything. I guess they’re saying he was committing a felony that resulted in a death.

They are setting up to say “we tried” when public gets mad that they all may be acquitted

They just want to bankrupt his butt in attorney fees before they let him go or maybe they're hoping he pleads guilty to a lesser charge.

I think they are trying to lessen the blow for the “outraged crowd” when this doesn’t go the way they hope

I’m curious to how many posters in this thread believe that Bryant who never did anything with a firearm and was simply following and filming the incident should be charged with felony murder?
He’s not a murderer. He’s just a pussy behind a camera who did absolutely nothing to help and then sat on the video.

I have no idea. There is obviously more video and/or solid evidence that the GBI has, which has not reached the public eye. Rare for the GBI to "over-extend". If they made the charge, they think they can prove it.

I would not be surprised to see the DA offer a deal here to solidify the case against the primary defendants.

But we'll see. We're still on the first Snickers.

I don’t. I suspect this won’t hold up and he may be charged with accessory.
