The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

We don't. I'm usually dubious of partial video. But this one is different for me. The news coming out isnt helping me be sympathetic to those two, either.
1. Didn't witness crime.
2. Pursued when 911 instructed the opposite.
3. Cut dude off at least once.
4. Retired LEO.
5. 2nd car with videographer.
6. Got out of truck with shotgun in hand.

Speaking of second car, I've read that he was pursuing with them. But did this person leak the video?

Nope I said I didn’t even agree with the actions of the ex officer and his son and the other Neighbor. I’m just saying that under the law, with all the facts presented it’s easy to see this is not a “murder” and the action of shooting arbury was in self defense due to his actions of Physically assaulting a guy and trying to take a gun out of his hands
Do you know the difference between murder and manslaughter? Most people have been agreeing manslaughter is the proper charge.

So again, you're ok if I chase your ass down in a truck then confront you with a shotgun and then shoot you and claim self-defense? All because I thought you looked like you might of done something bad the other day?
It was that day. And they wouldn’t have shot him if he hadn’t attacked them and tried to take their gun. Same with Trayvon he’d be alive if he hadn’t ran from his porch to try to beat up Zimmerman

Trespassing. On two different properties. That was the reason they were trying to get the police there to begin with

A) So trespassing is reason to chase down a guy in a truck with guns huh?

B) And he witnessed this and was 100% sure it was him? I'll answer that for you....no he didn't. And if you say anything else, you're lying.

All fair points.

I do everything in my power to intimidate and threaten you, you lash out, and now I'm allowed to kill you. It's the perfect crime!

Nope.

Ahmaud Arbery case will go to grand jury - CNN

After the shooting, Gregory McMichael told police he saw the same man "the other night" and that he stuck his hand down his pants on that occasion, leading McMichael to believe he was armed, according to a Glynn County Police report.
After seeing Arbery jogging, McMichael then alerted his 34-year-old son, Travis, according to the police report.
"Travis, the guy is running down the street, let's go," McMichael said, according to the report.
The two grabbed a shotgun and a pistol and followed Arbery in their truck, police said. Travis McMichael, the driver, followed Arbery and then attempted to cut him off, the report said. Arbery turned around and began running in the opposite direction, the police report said.

Unless there were posted signs, it's likely not trespassing.

you’d be smart to put your hands up and wait for the cops to sort it out

Neither one was their property, and they were not designated agents of the actual owners. They cannot claim he was trespassing.

Does anyone know if the record shows if the deceased had a cell phone?

I think the deceased was most likely up to no good. That said the responsible thing for any concerned citizen to do would be to observe and report. Having the weapons for safety is fine. Brandishing them in this situation after overtly pursuing, and according to some reports attempting to stop the deceased was a very bad choice. Attempting to attack someone holding a weapon is also a very dumb choice but he did not introduce the weapon into the equation.

This does not rise to a murder charge IMO. This is manslaughter at best IMO.

Had they kept the weapons out of the equation and the decedent attacked them then I believe an argument, although weak, could have had been made they had the right to defend themselves, but that isn't what happened.

1 is false. They did witness it
2 is not what 911 said
3 they “cut him off” only as there was one road in and out of this neighborhood off the highway which shows he wasn’t jogging
4 yes
5 yea someone else with the neighborhood watch who also witnessed the trespassing
6 I don’t disagree with this

He wouldn't have attacked them if he didn't feel threatened by their pursuit.

The only thing I've seen him claim he witnessed was the victim looking in window of a house under construction. If that is ground to chase someone then my ass better look out because I've done that several times when out running or walking.

1) No, they f***ing didin't.

2) yes they did

3) You're a cop? God help your community.

Really? because the title of this thread says differently. I think they would be more likely to be held for civil damages than criminal charges

•I don't care at all about jogging.
•1 and 2 are from news reports.
•1 road in and out...wtf does that matter???

Read back through. Title doesn't mean ****. Most have been agreeing this is manslaughter.

Where’s the personal responsibility for the guy in the white shirts actions? What was he doing there and why was he running? If he was doing nothing wrong, why not stop and explain? If he was up to no good, why not accept defeat and take responsibility for his actions? He chose to run and fight instead. And none of this is on him???
