The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

it's not rehashing as much as actual facts and law vs. "what i feelz" or "what the news said about it" People who attempt to seriously hurt others aren't innocent

It is rehashing it when this happening many years ago. No since in me going back and forth about it today when the evil doer has gotten off.

I would be pissed if a creepy man was tagging behind me too. Of course Martin didn't know Zimmerman had a gun but Zimmerman was out looking for Martin. Martin didn't know why. This has nothing to do with the feels but everything to do with a bad law that protected Zimmerman. Zimmerman has continued to run afoul ever since the incident. I know you are past KPD, and we disagreed on this issue on Scout and we disagree today. You seemed obsessed with the case.

Again, I'm not going to keep discussing it because it is not relevant to today and this incident. You can though. Knock yourself out.

Not obsessed about it in anyway. Just here for discussion as you are. The reason I was discussing it a lot then and the Michael Brown case was because the media put out false narratives which clouded what really happened and was contrary to what the law states and the way the incidents went down. And I was correct both times. It’s why I discuss these incidents because of the interesting social and legal nature of them

Zimmerman was able to follow Martin in the dark. Martin feels threatened and goes after Zimmerman and starts beating him up. Because of stand your ground, Zimmerman is able to shoot and kill him without any repercussions. Is Zimmerman bruised and hurt? Yes. Was there a chance a skinny 17 y/o Martin was going to be able to physically beat a grown man to death? Unlikely.

There are always two sides to the story when Martin was not committing a crime at the time and Zimmerman was dressed in plain clothes.

I'm assuming he'll cite SYG even though this was never argued by the defense.
I don’t know how many times these incidents have to happen with the “cry wolf” media before we see the truth time and time again of reality and actual law

Martin felt threatened to leave his porch and go looking for zimmerman who was walking back to his car?

Martin wasn’t skinny although at least you upgraded him from 15 to 17 now. You can kill someone bashing their head on concrete. That’s considered deadly force

There is no disputing that Martin was in the wrong here

Sorry, but that's incorrect. Stand Your Ground says Zimmerman could have shot Martin before Martin ever touched him. It establishes that there is no duty to retreat. Whether or not that's a good law is irrelevant in this case because Martin was beating Zimmerman when Zimmerman shot him. That's plain old self defense. Stand Your Ground is the law in 24 states. Zimmerman would have been able to argue self defense in all 50.

The Stand Your Ground issue was a media creation. Zimmerman never raised it as a defense.

Yeah I changed it to 17 based on what you said. I didn't go back to check. I took your word for it. Although I'm pretty sure Martin was skinny. I can check.

I'm having a hard time imagining that this guy just decided to charge a random dude with a gun. If that was the case, obviously the runner was asking for it. On the other hand, if what's being initially reported is true....ugh. Makes me sick.

They didnt shoot him on suspicion..he was shot for attacking one of them and grabbing his gun
If two randos came after me with a gun I’d probably do what I could to protect myself. If anything HE has just as much reason to shoot them as they do him.

So two are politicizing this event without all the facts and convicting a man of murder in the court if public opinion and the other didn't comment on it. What's the point?

All too often you extreme lefties rail against Trump inserting himself where he doesn't belong but forget to give him credit when he doesn't?

I agree, although, I don't think they it would be outrageous to think that they didn't get a rush while chasing him.
Certainly there was adrenaline, without question, it's apparent it clouded their judgement.

How many murders in Chicago this past weekend will go unpunished?

Why should I be more upset about this particular one?
Say what? This is an obvious example of rednecks trying to play backwoods justice and end up killing their neighbor. I’d line to see what the response would be to a truck full of armed black men trying to detain a white man out for a jog.

He’s not their neighbor and he wasn’t out for a jog. If the races were reversed my opinion would be the exact same
