The murder of Ahmaud Arbery

Again, read the thread and you'll find most of the posters commenting and condemning are not liberals.
I think most people just see the 30 second video and go off of assumptions. If they hunted him down like some suggest fry them but I’m just betting there is way more than most people know.

Or two guys killed a jogger in February and nobody has done anything about it yet.

Maybe humanity is more important than the ignorant political scene.
I’m asking sincerely here, you have evidence or knowledge for sure that was the case? Are you saying you know for sure this guy was 100% innocent and just on an afternoon stroll and these guys shot him for nothing?

I'm not basing my conclusion off of the video alone. I think the video combined with the 911 call and their statments to police make it obvious they are criminally responsible for Arbery's death.

So, and I’m asking sincerely here not trying to be an ass, are you’d saying they “hunted” him down and shot him? He was 100% innocent and they killed him for nothing?

I haven't used the phrase "hunted him down" and I don't know that it would be accurate.

I don't think Arbery's guilt or innocence of any particular offense is even remotely relevant because they didn't have the requisite immediate knowledge of any crime to justify a citizen's arrest.

I don’t see any chance for murder conviction. I just don’t see the obsession with this case

It is. It doesn’t matter in GA. See my prior post. Any felony in GA is felony murder. Your friend chokes to death while smoking your giant doobie: arguably felony murder.
Note to self, do not share giant doobies in GA. It's okay to bogart that ****.

I don't understand why he cut back to the left in front of the truck where the guy was with the gun.

It seemed to me from my view that he was running on the left side of the road, saw the guy with the gun standing in the road in his path then cut to the right behind the truck and looked as though he was headed that way, then for some reason cut back to the left in front of the truck where he knew the guy with the gun was.
I see the same thing, not sure what was going through his head. If it's me and a gun is pointed at me, which I'm not sure was the case here, I run away and to the right. If the guy is holding the gun, but not pointing at me, I might possibly entertain the idea of making a grab for it but I just don't know, seems very low on the that reward scale. We will never know for sure what he was thinking in those moments unfortunately.

But for the shenanigans of the DA, I don't think this story is super interesting.
Do you have a link to the DA shenanigans? I seriously haven’t read anything about this except a few posts in this thread.

Edit: nm. I always forget about the incognito window for NYT articles.

I don't care what color anybody involved in this whole fiasco is. What I do care about is the idea that it's ok for people in the United States to track others down while armed on city streets. Then as a result of this having a shooting resulting in a death which is then pretty much ignored for months.

What was the purpose of grabbing their guns before they got in the truck?
Not trying to argue but if they thought he could possibly be armed having a weapon for protection is prudent. I just don't think they acted responsibly, they didn't intend to murder anyone IMO. If they did why call 911, why try to stop him etc? If just grabbing a weapon proves intent to murder than every officer or any person who ever shot someone in self defense would be guilty of murder in your scenario.

Wow, surprised to see you again ITT you claim to not care about.

Honestly, the only reason this thread has 55 pages is because a handful of people are staring at the sky and insisting it does not look blue. There would be nothing to talk about, otherwise.

I think almost everyone agrees they acted irresponsibly and should be held criminally responsible for the killing. There are details to be argued here and I think most of the discussion centers around the charges they should face. I see manslaughter here due to some of the details.

Question for those better versed in law. If they seek a murder conviction does the option to convict on a lesser charge automatically kick in or is that something that only the judge can allow during the proceedings?
