Agree, here in CT, if I had kids, they would either go to Charters, or Catholic schools. They make public education look absolutely pitiful in comparison.
Not necessarily. There are a great deal of private schools that do jack squat for college prep. Had I not transferred out of my private school to public high school for my junior and senior year... I would have been stuck taking developmental writing for 2 semesters.
I thought it was just the school, but there's a pretty uniform curriculum used by private schools in this part of the country. It's kind of weird.
I'd like to see American education be completely privatized, but there needs to be a certain standard of education so these kids aren't going into college not knowing what the hell MLA format is.
