The Boston College game they did catch a break, I must say, but the int td by reed wasn't actually needed.

FOX Sports - BCSFootball - BCS, Alliance & Coalition Games Year-by-Year

Looks to me like they beat a weak Nebraska team that shouldn't have been playing them to start with, a Nebraska that lost to Colorado which in turn lost to Oregon in a blow out in BCS game. They were good but not best of all time.
The '71 Nebraska team would be lucky to get a first down against the '01 'Canes. The only teams that really merit being in the discussion are the '87 Miami team, the '95 Nebraska team, and possibly the '04 Southern Cal team.

I'm not trying to slam the 04 trojans, but being the only teams on your list I remember, I say Ed Reed, Mike Rumph, and Phillip Buchannon would have given USC's passing fits. You can't find a better secondary to cover Jarret and Smith.

95 Nebraska and 01 Miami are the top two.

Then there is everybody else.

No one could stop Nebraska's offense in 95.

No one could stop Miami's offense that 01.

More NFL players came from Miami's offense because they did not run the archaic triple option.

Forgive me If I'm wrong, But I believe Miami had a better defense.

Yes, just saying that making a comparison based on how much NFL talent came from either team's offense is irrelevant to the arguement.

I think Miami's 01 team was better overall myself.

How many guys from the 1995 Nebraska team went on to the NFL?
I'm sure I'm missing somebody, but I can't think of a single player off that team who made an impact in the NFL. Lawrence Phillips and Jason and Christian Peter were in and out of the league, but I don't remember a single impact professional.

Last I heard, Lawrence Phillips was in jail for trying to run over people in his car.

I keep hearing things like the 2005 'horns being one of the greatest teams ever. Where are people getting that idea? VY was good, not god.

The '05 Texas team isn't one of the 30 best teams in college football history.

I remember they won a poll last year which was them vs the 2001 Hurricanes. I'm still not sure what sportsnation was thinking.

What about Grant Wistrom and Kyle Vanden Bosch? I'm not sure if they go that far back or not...

Agreed. There is a slew of Miami and Nebraska teams better, Oklahoma when Quentin Griffin and Tommie Harris was there, Alabama in 92, the list goes on

Sorry for the confusion. It was 05 Texas. Big fan base indeed, but they won a lot of states.
Same principle, though. Outside of Dade County, and fans who like to root for the "outsider" attitude, the 'Canes don't have much of a following.

Winstrom and Vanden Bosch are both 7-9 year veterans correct? Green is a 10 year veteran, and he was a freshman on that team.
