The Next Time The Debate About The Greatest College Football Team Of All Time Starts:

The 2001 Miami Hurricanes were an unbelievable team. The 2001 Nebraska Cornhuskers were quite possibly the least deserving team to ever play for a national championship.

The 1995 Cornhuskers would have run right over the top of the 2001 Miami Hurricane's defense. It wouldn't have mattered how great Miami's secondary could cover wide receivers because Nebraska wouldn't have needed to throw the ball.
Nobody in the NFL runs over Reed, Vilma, Williams, etc. I'm quite certain a couple of Canadian Leagues washouts like Frazier and Phillips would have little to no success attempting to do so.

95 Nebraska is, at least, in the conversation. as college football teams go, they were one of the most dominant i've ever seen. but if draft picks is the measuring stick, hard to argue 01 canes.

If there's anyone who could hang with the 2001 Miami Hurricanes, it's the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers. The only game that was even close that they played was Washington State, with Ryan Leaf(yes, he was good in college), as a sophomore if I remember correctly. They won by 2 TD's over WSU.

That team was incredible.

----------------------------------
Other teams that are somewhere in the ballpark(Keep in mind this is comparative with the competition they played).................

1971 Nebraska - Considered by some the greatest college team ever
1945 Army - 2 Heisman Trophy winners in their backfield
1924 Notre Dame - Backfield nickname the Four Horsemen by Murfreesboro native and the greatest sportswriter of all time, Grantland Rice.
1920 Cal - One of the most dominant teams of all time, they allowed only 14 points in a 9 game season.
2004 USC - In terms of sheer talent level, one of the most talented ever. Also went 13-0, with a unanimous NC. I honestly think that this USC team would have thrashed the 2004 Auburn team.

Dang, I didn't even see the thread date until just now.

In any case, what I said before still is valid.
