The NO Bobby Petrino Petition

Good point b/c that has been comparable to winning the East or just about every other conference

it was the toughest division in the toughest conference in the history of college football and he fielded a top 10 program at a mid-tier school

imagine what he could do on the no-saban side with a top tier program

you can argue about his morality but not about his coaching - we would be relevant and we would be relevant really fast

imo this is THE home run hire

Good points . How were his defenses? This is the area we are going to have to improve in a hurry.

Easier to compete with Bama at Arkansas or at Tennessee???

Tennessee for sure. Can he turn around the defense ? He was always touted as an offensive guru. Our glaring problem is on the defensive side of the ball. Can he restore confidence and run a scheme we have the personnel to execute? Insert Gruden's name here too.

This response isn't going to be popular but I don't see the scheme as the big issue. It's a fragile team that doesn't know how to win and can't handle SS and his coaching style. Simply put our kids are weak minded and can't handle his screaming style and have tuned him out. Ss could indeed be a good DC in the right situation IMO.

To answer your question any change of message from a new coach will help turn things around. Our talent isn't that bad imo

Petrino should never be the coach at UT.You would think that the people learned enough with the antics of Kiffin to bring in another even remotely resembling his actions. We have a HC in CDD that "fits" into the mold he just can't win.Although football is a "way of life" here some things are more important than football.Risking a fine school's reputation on Petrino is not the answer in hopes of him winning games because after every game there will always be that "bad feeling" or waiting for the "other shoe to drop".No win would ever be without worry that he did or is on the process of doing something that will have UT buried by the NCAA.

I would take Petrino over Dooley and not think about it twice. Sure people will have things to say about the man. Deep down, if they follow college football on the field, they know UT would be winning sonner rather than later. If he were to beat UF or Oregon next year, noone would care about his chics and bikes ordeal. People make mistakes. Was he arrested? Charged with murder? Felony? He had an affair and hired his GF to work in his office. Would not be the 1st time it has happened in the world. He stood up and said he was sorry. His wife accepted it and is trying to heal. The school that gives him another chance will be making a good decision IMO.
Bailing on UL or ATL?? I could care less. If a school can fire a coach anytime for anything, he can walk away anytime he chooses to do so. UT puts clauses in the contract to protect the school(just as Arkansas did) and he would be a good hire.

I couldn't agree more. This is why Dooley and Sunseri must go.

This is does make him a realistic option. UT could get him on the cheap which they have a history of doing.

No Petrino. A man who has repeatedly shown poor charcter like he has will not get my support.

I would accept Petrino and before he had the incident last summer he would have been number one on my list now he is third.

I really like what I am seeing in this thread. Started to be anti bobby P turn into one that shows some support. Hopefully it's a sign that a bobby p hire would be embraced.

He would still be a slimeball but he would be our slimeball. Not my first choice just don't want Dooley at this point.

Petrino has shown he has little loyalty for other people or the program he is coaching for. If he was hired I would worry about the damage he does on his way out. But I am so tired of losing to Florida and Alabama that it might be worth chancing it.

You guys better HOPE we can get Petrino. UT needs Petrino MORE than he needs UT.

Sure. He would take the job, but guess what, someone, probably many, are going to make him an offer and Ill bet my last dollar that cat is winning Championships in no time.

Sign him before someone else does....

Yeah, I know, your right, Bobby Petrino has had mountains of NCAA problems. I mean, right?
I mean you do know what your talking about? Right? Dont you?

Oh, wait... your just another talking head spewing crap that doesnt know what he's talking about.

Bobby Petrino is clean with the NCAA.

Stop with the crap before someone believes you.

Investigate a little before you type something.

We would be in a bidding war with KY. They hired the "grease ball" for a B-ball coach, they won't even blink hiring Petrino.
