the last year at Louisville they were 20th in the country in total defense

he will have to hire the right coord but after the coord DD and Hart hired this year do you really think Petrino couldnt command a better DC hire?

Folks. It isn't all about the scandal. He's shown himself to be a scumbag everywhere he's gone. Don't need any of that, here. Too many good candidates to consider, before settling on a dirtbag. People keep forgetting, you wouldn't be getting the Petrino before the scandal. Opposing coaches will hang his baggage around his neck on the recruiting trail.

Strong or Patterson would be able to recruit circles around Petrino.

Bailing on the Falcons, and leaving Louisville after saying he wanted to be there. Who cares?? Either team could have fired him 2 days before he left and not given a reason one. If a coach wants to leave a job at any time for any reason it is well within their right to do so. Didn't Dooley bail on LaTech shortly before signing day to come here? Funny how some things are alright and others scream "scumbag". Anyways, I would trade Dooley for Petrino in about 2.146 seconds.

Yes and are we not hoping Gruden breaks his contract to coach here. The facts are not just Petrino but nearly every coach in this country would run out on their team if they were given a better opportunity.

Ask yourself this question if Strong were hired to be our new head coach would you want him here now or after Louisville bowl game?

I want to win, but not with Petrino. I cannot support selling the soul of UT just for a few more wins. You people are sick.

Petrino would turn this ship around FAST!...I would have no problem giving him a chance at UT...I think he would be very loyal to us for giving him that chance.

No chance he could win it in 2 yrs. Offense isnt our problem and Petrino's Defenses are about as bad as what we have now. He will never be able to recruit at a high level again. Would you or your wife let your son go play for him and be a father figure? Absolutely not!

He has been hated by everyone from people in the AD and ones having to deal with him on a regular basis. You dont have that many people hate you unless your a complete POS.

Jason, obviously you are still a little wet behind the ears. And now thats ok, see. One day even you will start to truely learn the game of football, and when you do, you will learn that coaches of elite calibur, coaches that live and breathe, eat and S%*t football have huge egos. They are type A personalities and usually are complete asses to work for.

Nick Saban is famous for being almost impossible to work for. It just goes with the territory when it comes to elite coaches like Petrino, Saban, Meyer and probably many others who spend 25 hours a day obcessing over football and trying to figure out how to out slick their opponent. They dont have much of a life, they know nothing but football, they give it 200%, they refuse to lose and they refuse to accept anyone who doesnt give it the same.

In a nutshell, I could care less if those who get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars per year think that their boss is an ahole so long as their boss is making sure that when I leave the stadium on a fall Saturday there is a smile on my face.

I'll sign. He's a hell of a coach, and I could care less about the fact that he bangs hot women in their twenties and drives a motor cycle. But look at the situation that he put arky in, he basically kiffin'd them.
