Attrition doesn't affect the 25 initial counters. I don't know what to make of it either. We've got 27 LOI's, but unless we actually were allowed to backcount a couple, I don't see how we can get away with that. I'm sure Butch has it figured out, though, so I won't worry. I was only worried leading up to today, but I assume if he accepted a LOI that he has room.

That's what I meant in mentioning the attrition. It would have to be a case where someone leaving somehow allowed a couple/few backcounts.

But like I said, I don't think attrition affects that in any way. We signed our max last year, so there can be no back-counting.

Callahan said this morning that Bruce and Perry are public blueshirts, but that we also have a couple of secret blueshirts, who he does not know their identity. Butch is keeping their identity under wraps because of concern that another program could try to poach them before next fall.

That seems silly. Either they want to be here that badly or they don't. If they're willing to participate in this shenanigan, then they should be able to simply turn down any scholarship offers that come their way.

Well darn it, i came in here hoping to find out how we managed to sign so many when at the start of this thread(back in june?) we were only "allowed" 23. Guess I'm just as confused as everyone else.

I thought they couldn't sign a LOI if they were blueshirting. I keep getting more and more confused.

Yeah, I thought guys who were blue-shirting could not sign, which would mean they could not be publicized by the university as part of the signing class. But apparently Jashon Robertson did it last year, and he was promoted as a signee. Could a "secret blue shirt" have just signed a financial aid agreement of some sort?

It's just easier than having scumbag bagmen come around and pouch your kids. Honestly though it's not that hard to figure out which kids are actually eligible for one.

I'm still wondering if we got a space from Henderson because of that mess with clearinghouse. If a kid's transcript clears the NCAA then the school that takes him shouldn't be penalized if the NCAA made a mistake.

Imo, no. Bruce and Perry could not be named today because they were BSs. Robertson was announced in the last class. IMO Robertson got Orlando Browns spot when UT dumped him over grade concerns late. Robertson was not announced this year as he was Not a BS in 2014.

How about this?

Could some of the EE's be BS? Since they are enrolled at the university, they can be publicized as much as UT wants. Honestly, if you are instate and have a decent academic standing, you can get enough scholarships to cover tuition for one semester with about an extra 2-3k. If some of these guys can graduate early, I am sure they can get some academic scholarships (UT or external). This is a shot in the dark, but I don't understand how else we have spots.

The EE's all count toward the 2015 class, unless CBJ found a way to backcount some of them. They can't be counted as BS's.

So Bruce and Perry signed their admission papers not an LOI. All other players were announced today so I don't know how 2 other players not identified could be.

It was reported By the media that we signed 27. But none of us have actually scene the letter of intent. We just saw a girl with a jersey and a brick.

So I think it's genius. Apparently two of these 27 didn't actually sign. I love that.
