The Oakland A's- MLB's ACTUAL AAA team

We have a middle fielder, and Moss had hip surgery? I can't say any trade is good because no baseball is being played. It's currently a push.

A nowhere near mlb ready midfielder. Don't kid yourself into anything else.

Semien is a placeholder and will probably wind up at 2B after next year. The A's have completely unloaded everyone except Gray. Bet he'll be in season trade bait. The team wasn't going to be playoff contenders in 2016, but there was no reason for Beane to throw this team away so early.

Remember 2012?

Remember 2012?

.... In 2012 we signed talent. Granted it was young talent, but everyone knew Donaldson had power and a good glove. Everyone knew Moss had potential. Everyone e knew Cespedes was a HUGE pickup. The starting rotation was light years better. They signed players that could contribute immediately. Not scrubs and potential stars. But keep dreaming and being wrong some more.

Moss was a guy who every team kicked around at least once, Donaldson was a 27 year old catcher who started off 2012 hitting .192. He was extremely close to being labeled a bust.
We traded Gio Gonzales, Trevor Cahill, and Andrew Bailey to different teams, and it ended up being a lucky haul. I don't remember anybody huge being signed but Cespedes that year. We got lucky on Bartolo who was on the DL list most of the time.

Neither you nor I can't predict the future, but I do know that when being an A's fan, anything can happen.

Ben Zobrist and Yunel Escobar are nice additions. Real nice additions. Now a .300 hitter and I can start to become more comfortable with this lineup. There still isn't a lot of power, but with the pitching it might not be needed. The A's can play small ball.

Nice debut for Venditte. I never understood why the Yankees never called him up. In eight minor league seasons, the first seven in the New York Yankees' organization, he had a 2.37 ERA with 52 saves and nine starts.

Yank, your boy Venditte got called back up yesterday and proceeded to give up a walk off home run.

Sad to read that Dave Henderson passed away. He always seemed to come up big clutch moments.

Very sad to hear. Everyone assumes I became a fan because of McGwire and Canseco. The reality is that Rickey, Eck and Hendu were the influential bunch that made me an A's fan.

RIP to one of the most versatile players in baseball history. Tony Phillips has passed away at the way too young age of 56.

We’re signing Jonathan Lucroy to a one year deal. Not a bad idea. Even if he’s only average, it’s an improvement at the position and brings much needed leadership to the club.
