Glenn Reynolds (the Instapundit) has been makin this argument for quite some time. It perfectly aligns with the Occupiers' and Obama's stated agendas.

Last I checked, the Hollywood actors hadn't f'd up the economy by manipulating the mortgage securities market, or needed a bailout when their gambles failed, or taken bailout money then still paid themselves multi-million bonuses.

Your comparison of Hollywood to Wall Street in this context simply fails at every level.

true. Though I'm not a fan of degenerate hollywood personalities offering up gems of political wisdom, wallstreet is a corrupt mess and angers me nearly everytime it gets mentioned.

Oh no, they just like to tell all of the hard working American taxpayers how to live.

Last time I also checked, Obama did not separate CEO's of honest companies from CEO's of bailout companies. He simply stated "corporate jet owner's" and CEO's making "millions of dollars".

If we are going to demonize the rich, shouldn't we be honest about who is rich? Especially if most of Hollywood is raking in more money than CEO's?

It's a frickin joke.

Actors being talented is certainly a matter of opinion.

I just find it quite hilarious that ones who are making the most money like to tell everyone else how terrible the American system is. Meanwhile they are milking it for every dime.

Why doesn't Hollywood get together and pay for a gigantic welfare/healthcare system? They want to take care of the poor so bad no one is stopping them. I suppose that doesn't supply you with enough photo ops? You get more photos if you go to Africa and hold up babies.

What you say is true of most CEOs. Plenty of Hollywood and other entertainers have participated in box office flops and still gotten paid.

Let's take Susan Sarandon since she publicly endorsed OWS. I'm sure there have been times in her career where her multiple vs the lowest paid employee on the set was more than most CEOs.

Double standard.

Since movie theater ushers and ticket takers are on the lowest paid employees list, yet they are doing all the leg work for the high dollar Hollywood types, shouldn't Hollywood step in and make sure they all have health insurance and $100,000 wages, homes that are paid for, cars, and "free" education?

It's even worse than that. Think of all the unpaid and underpaid employees (PAs, studio interns, gofers, etc). Why aren't the Occupiers clamoring for these laborers to get a living wage and benefits while the studios, actors, and producers make millions? Where's the wealth spreading?

I don't know enough about those jobs to say they need to be paid more. If they want better lifestyles - they should go work the assembly lines at GM & friends.

As far as I can tell, the Occupiers are angry at anyone who is not a part of the 1% and appears to include anyone that's profiting at the expense of others.
