The "Occupy" Rallies

A mom's perspective on the Occupy rallies.

Then Again ... by Marybeth Hicks

The money quote: "Occupy reality: Only 4 percent of college graduates are out of work. If you are among that 4 percent, find a mirror and face the problem. It's not them. It's you."

4 percent? Is that out of all college graduates living?

It depends on where you draw the line. I would say the 70% of college students don't have a job lined up following graduation, and I would guess for many it take more than 3 months. And this includes engineers, who might be better off than liberal arts, but I would guess 50% are still struggling to find jobs.

And I just graduated last year with an engineering degree, I don't need a poll.

Admittedly, I was a bit surprised by the figure, too. Employment statistics can be a little deceptive because we don't know how the figure was derived (e.g. part time = full time?, underemployed = employed, statistic excludes grad students). I wouldn't be surprised, however, if the employment figure was significantly higher than the Occupiers believe.

It's going to be interesting when winter hits. Frozen hippies. Actually everyone will probably start heading out.

1' 40" mark. It's pretty wild:

not the celebrities thing again.

It's confusing to me, that's all. If they're concerned about wealth inequality, then celebrities and athletes also should be on their hit list. Similarly if they're concerned about the influence of money in politics, they also should be storming Hollywood. If the only reason theyre after "Wall Street" is because of the bank bailouts, then why didn't they protest with the Tea Party?

celebrities and athletes always get a pass from the left when it comes to things like wealth and how it's earned.

The Russian was a little too obnoxious for me, but it was funny. The best is the parting shot by the socialists, "YOU'RE ALSO A RACIST!"....completely unfounded.

I wouldn't be able to contain myself either when talking to such idiots

How about them claiming what a great country North Korea is. WTF, are there people that are literally that stupid in this country? They are probably scientologists too.

Seriously. They celebrate that everyone in North Korea gets paid! What they get paid? Who cares!
