The "Occupy" Rallies

because someone has more than they do, and to be honest that's just not fair.

It's funny that they all make a big deal about greed, when envy is just as unhealthy. Nobody calls those with less than themselves "greedy" (when surely there are many greedy poor people), which probably says more about envy than it does greed.

I'm going to start an Occupy Chik-fil-a movement on Sundays because they are closed. :peace2:

Good question. Their grievances seem to change with unsurprising regularity. Sometimes they're mad about wealth inequality. Other times theyre mad about the political influence exerted by millionaires and billionaires. At one point, it wasn't fair that the banks were bailed out. I don't know what they're mad about today

They're mad because noone wants to employ their lazy, sense-of-entitlement a$$es.

Micheal Moore said that there was no violence, the OWS protesters are peaceful and that the rioting in Oakland was a "police riot".

clearly, the cholesterol he takes intravenously is beginning to affect his brain

http://www.cbo.gov/publications/collections/tax/2009/average_before-tax_income.pdf

In 2006 dollars, average income by quintile:

1979: 16,200 35,100 52,700 71,200 136,400
2006: 17,200 39,400 60,700 89,500 248,400

Every economic sector in America is better off today (or, at least in 2006) than they were in 1979. What exactly is "Occupy" upset about?

I imagine their beef would not necessarily be with raw dollars earned by various quintiles but rather the rate at which wages are increasing with respect to the rate of inflation.

Edit: I guess I should be more specific. The increased cost of living which not always directly proportional to the "adjusted" dollar formula.

Occupy Wall Street kitchen slowdown targets squatters - NYPOST.com

The Occupy Wall Street volunteer kitchen staff launched a “counter” revolution yesterday -- because they’re angry about working 18-hour days to provide food for “professional homeless” people and ex-cons masquerading as protesters.

For three days beginning tomorrow, the cooks will serve only brown rice and other spartan grub instead of the usual menu of organic chicken and vegetables, spaghetti bolognese, and roasted beet and sheep’s-milk-cheese salad.

They will also provide directions to local soup kitchens for the vagrants, criminals and other freeloaders who have been descending on Zuccotti Park in increasing numbers every day.

irony is apparently no longer taught in colleges and universities

Since protesting appears to be their dayjobs, does "striking" mean they aren't going to show up to protest?

They won't have to take the day off from work because they don't have jobs

So... Atlanta got shut down because a cop openly carried a gun into the protests? The provocateur was a police officer. A cop. An employee of the city. In a state in which it is legal to openly carry a gun. And that's why the mayor shut down the protests? You guys are really happy about that? Guess you guys don't actually like the freedom to assemble or peaceful protest...
