I think I would like this outcome the best. And the Andy/Gabe dynamic would be really fun. Gabe has turned into the biggest villain on the show.

Remember he met him at a shoe store when over hearing him ask for a shoe that made him run faster and left no foot prints.

Another plausible suspect.

I don't see it. What episode is the shoe store from? And they are doing way too much to make Gabe hated for him to not be a serial murderer

ah. Well I just think they're making too much out of this story for the Strangler to not be a recurring character or a strong guest star. Perhaps Gervais?

Honestly I think his character would have made more cameos if they were going to make him the strangler

Why?

Dwight was always so persistent that he wanted to catch the strangler.
Why not make it someone he was actually close to for a while.
It makes it easier to create a red herring with Gabe.

I think it makes just as much as sense as anyone else mentioned.

I think gabe was intended to be the strangler since he joined the show. The strangler was first mentioned after his first episode

What? Andy is arguably the least competent person there, he has little to no respect from his peers, and he was the freaking whistleblower.

There's really no way it would make sense for him to be promoted, IMO. I'm not saying it certainly won't happen, but it's hard to imagine anyone staying on the staff to work for Andy.

It sounds possible. It's what I'm hoping for. The threat he made in the last episode seemed promising.
