The Office: Season 7 Thread

What? Andy is arguably the least competent person there, he has little to no respect from his peers, and he was the freaking whistleblower.

There's really no way it would make sense for him to be promoted, IMO. I'm not saying it certainly won't happen, but it's hard to imagine anyone staying on the staff to work for Andy.

There's the ending to the show

I disagree. The push he got from acing the seminar was nice, and locking down Michael's client last week was HUGE. The others in the office seem to like him more, especially after his play.

He's becoming more competent, he's graduated from an Ivy League school, and is definitely gonna be better at managing than sales.

Plus, Ed Helms is the only person employeed that can take Steve Carell's spot and be the face of a show. Daily Show strikes again. That show seems to turn out more promising futures than SNL, lately.

How did Michael Scott being incompetent stop him from being manager?
Michael was apparently a great salesmen. He seems to be a moron, but he has some flashes of actually having some managerial skills. Andy has proven to be a complete dolt that happens to have a rich family. Also, his only management experience is anger management.

If Andy keeps the top 10 accounts he might be the guy.

The writers may choose that outcome, but it's hard to imagine Jim, Dwight, and Stanley working for him.

Jim just had a kid and definitely isn't in position to quit.
Stanley simply doesn't care.
Dwight, well Dwight would be pissed.

It's not a given it's Andy, Darryl, or Dwight. The writers said it still could be someone new taking over.
