Your PF & C averaging 10.8 rebounds a game COMBINED when they both are on the court around 30 minutes a game isn't "doing fine"

Jarnell Stokes, Jeronne Maymon and even Grant Williams were all better fundamental rebounders.

November 36.4 rebounds a game average as a team, December 23.8 and January 29.6 (we also played all of the bottom 5 SEC teams). We need to do better at rebounding, and our "bigs" need to do better, that includes Olivier, Pember, & Plavsic.

Last 4 games we've cut down the Turnovers as well. 10.3 a game, and less than 10 in two of those games yet we went 1-3 in that stretch. Not having James (2nd leading rebounder) at Miss State hurt us a ton. Other guys gotta step up though, we've got 3 players that are all 6'9" or taller and a 4th that's basically that size.

Stoked and Maymon were no doubt physical beast on the boards. You might be surprised to hear that williams and fulky are virtually the same in rebounding stats when it comes to rebounds per 40min played. Williams was right at 9 rebounds and fulky just under that at 8.6.

pons is interesting in that he’s rebounded at a slightly higher clip this year playing the 4 but he clearly is the worst of the group mentioned

For me I think Kyle Alexander was the best rebounder of the Barnes era

Crazy how much ball watching goes on at all levels of basketball nowadays. Unless you’re face guarding somebody, always seeing ball and man used to be a fundamental taught in middle school.

Side note: Barnes didn’t like that “hit a wall question”, did he? Haha It didn’t sound like it was about SV specifically, but you could tell he didn’t like it. He also didn’t care for the “why has Coleman Coliseum” been a tough place to play”.

Nothing is ever gonna change with this team until more shots start going up in the paint. Jump shooting teams can't consistantly win. It looks great when you get on a little hot streak on the perimeter. Reference LSU and Miss St first half scores but the law of averages catches back up. We have to get more drives and cuts to the basket and more post ups.

Jump shooting teams don’t win consistently? Did I imagine Villanova winning 2/3 titles?

They did more than just jump shooting but yes those teams were very good at shooting. Completely skilled guards that could do it all.

I think that we need 2 in-game threads. One for the posters that have wandered away from the FF and the haters and trolls. One for the rest.

Weird game. We’ve had a lot of weird games in SEC play this year.

A couple wins where both teams shot horrid.

The poorly officiated A&M game

This one where we come back from 15 after a barrage of foul shots and Alabama turning it over non-stop. (Bama fans probably feel refs screwed them)

I don't know what's funnier... the idiot's in-game posts tonight or Pelosi squirming and shuffling her papers behind the Bad Orange Man.

10-8 is great and has been my hope all along. That appears to be a steep hill to climb.

Where does 9-9 and 2 wins in the SEC tourney put us net and bubble wise?

With the acc being down if we can get the big 10 to have a few teams fall off the bubble maybe that’s enough to sneak in

I thought you said SECT doesn’t matter for dancing?

It likely doesn’t: going 1-1 or 0-1 for sure doesn’t
Perhaps a little wishful thinking with a soft bubble this year

Was just checking on your stance ;)

I think 17-14(9-9) likely has them at the very least in the discussion, will depend on the strength of the bubble but should have them in the conversation I would think.

For some reason all this does is remind how pissed off I still am we didn’t get a bid in 2013 with a 20-12 record and decent resume.

SIAP but has anything been said about where Turner has been? Haven't seen him on the bench any the last few games. Assumed he already surgery ?
