I’ve got no interest in entering this pissing contest, but I wonder if Naismith were to play against us would they put JJJ on him since they played together in hs?

Possible at times and I think Naismith had good success last year against Bowden iirc.

Regarding our D. I think we are already a dang good defensive team. Losing Bowden is going to hurt but a healthy James and adding two studs on D I think we might be a top 5 defense in the country next year

SV is improving a lot with his on ball defending as well.

Vescovi’s defensive improvement in less than two months has been remarkable. I am so excited to see what kind of total package that kid can be with a full offseason of skill work and nutrition/strength training.

Agreed. He’s one tough son of a gun and I love it

I didn’t realize he was so tall either. Think he’s listed at 6’3” but saw him talking to Bowden on the court and they were close to the same height.

Strong build to

I wonder if he might try to drop a few pounds though to add quickness

Fascinating potential. And a very young player.

He reminds me a lot of Goran Dragic.
I don’t particularly care for the NBA game anymore, so I am not terribly familiar with Dragic. Watching highlights, though, I would agree he has that kind of potential.

Obviously a few inches shorter, but I see a lot of Ginobli in him.

Man if he elevates his driving & ability to finish at the rim like Manu... 🤩

I'll be checking out of this forum for a bit after tonight. No way I'm coming here to deal with the drive by Pearl slurpers this weekend and and all the pathetic hand wringing. Even if we somehow win.

If you need me I'll probably be in the Tennessee baseball forum or the XFL thread.

Understandable

Yep, he’s improved a heck of a lot

Only 2 of the 6 freshmen are Sec calibur. Plasvic is a 22 year old freshman, Gaines will be 21 before his sophomore season starts. Olivier N. is 20 years old and a freshman. Pember is 19. Those four players are not Sec calibur players and will never be. I would keep Pember because he is a local kid and I would force the others to leave. You see Joshia James and a barely 18 year old Vescovi are Sec calibur. James physically and Vescovi's skill set easily resemble what a Sec calibur player looks like. Barnes recruited 4 projects in 1 class and only has Pons representing the 17 class and no one from the 18 class. 3 Sec calibur in 3 recruiting classes. Barnes has completely **** the bed and for his sake better hope the 3 guys coming in next year save his ass.

I don't care how old Gaines is, if u don't see it with that kid, considering he will get bigger and stronger, then I can't respect your opinion on player evaluations and eventual production at UT

Player - date of birth
Uros - 12-22-1998
Gaines - 1-20-2000
Olivier - 5-2-2000
Pember - 6-14-2000
James - 9-5-2000
Santiago - 9-14-2001

Giving up on Gaines or ON at this point is ridiculous. Kyle Alexander wasn’t great his freshman year and neither was Admiral. I think Gaines will be a solid player (not saying elite).
