I used to get mad depressed when the football team lost, now I'm used to it. When LSU robbed us Grant's junior year and stole our regular season SEC Championship and Auburn beat us in the SEC Championship Tournament game, I was angry and depressed. It's been since that OT lost to Oklahoma since I felt like that about the football team and before that, probably the 2007 loss to LSU in the SEC Championship game. I'm apathetic about UT football, I live and die with every UT basketball game. When we finally lose (if we do) in basketball, this year, my wife and dogs will need to go on a walk for about an hour or feel my wrath. Just kidding, I would never take my anger, about UT losing in basketball on my dogs, but my wife better hide. Bwaa-ha-haIt shouldn't and I should be used to it, but it ticks me off when UT football fans act like UT basketball is just some silly distraction until spring practice.
I get it, UT is a football school. Probably always will be, but some of us like the basketball program and want to at least get a Final Four in before we die. And I hate to break it to them, but losing in basketball still stirs up emotion in me, as in I don't like to lose. Losing in football....sorry I barely react now. But losing in basketball....it still hurts. When we lost to Auburn last year twice, it legit ticked me off. When we lost to UK in TBA, I did NOT like it. When it looked like we weren't making the NCAAT, I was not happy. I didn't go overboard with it, but the passion is still here in basketball. And I've had it a long time, even in the Wade Houston, Kevin O'Neil, Buzz Peterson days I had passion and hope even when 8K were showing up to home games.
The draft was fun. I was preoccupied the whole time preparing to field dress a deer so I think I had a couple of reaches. Somebody reached and took my guy J Rich damnitall, hehe, it was you!Btw, I glanced at all the teams, looked at the top 8 picks or so and nice draft, @PulaskiVolFan. Not my best draft, but my team should be really good in every category, so I'll see u and a couple more of u punks in the playoffs.
Edit: go read the sh!t talking I did on the message board, runner-ups
Heard he was balling out at Dallas and I wanted a Vol. So, are u saying u need to thank the computer for drafting your team, which is damn good, imo, because u were preoccupied ?The draft was fun. No, it was me, the computer had some good suggestions though, I used my phone during the draft while we worked on the deer. I had J Rich pulled up ready to draft next and he suddenly vanished, that one threw me for a loop for a second.Heard he was balling out at Dallas and I wanted a Vol. So, are u saying u need to thank the computer for drafting your team, which is damn good, imo, because u were preoccupied ?
Good stuff. I agree with it ALL. I do follow every UT sport as much as time allows. Living in Morrill Hall way back when, I used to zip over to the aquatic center across the street and watch the swim team with their coonskin hats. Guys clapping, excited, enthusiastic about their team and university. I have nothing left in my emotional tank for football but disappointment. Basketball for years has been a huge joy for me, and now, I feel like it's about all I have left in the sports world. It shouldn't and I should be used to it, but it ticks me off when UT football fans act like UT basketball is just some silly distraction until spring practice.

I went to the UT-Auburn Championship game. Gah, that was depressing.I used to get mad depressed when the football team lost, now I'm used to it. I could give 2 f**** about the football program anymore. Until Fulmer and Pruitt are gone, I'm out
I haven't watched the last 4 or 5 games except maybe for a minute or 2. It's not worth the time.
