Care to give cliffs, went to look and saw that thread has exploded and don’t wanna read through 30 pages lol
I’ve also followed you over to the football and recruiting forums as of late thinking the season’s success would have mellowed it a bit. Like yourself I don’t want to get into most of the stupidity, but occasionally I can’t seem to control myself as shown in the BC today. We can usually have discussions on this forum maybe ending with agree to disagree without it turning personal. Across the wall it’s full attack mode with no quarter given to being reasonable.I have ventured back into the football forum but I am selective about what I post and respond to, and I go to the NFL forum on Sundays during Titans games. Other than that I kind of lurk. I'll hit the baseball forum closer to February when baseball starts back up.
I've tried to change my online self the past 6 months or so and I'm happier about it. I used to respond to everything I disagreed with or went after things I thought were dumb but started refraining because really what good does it do.? I still will post a snarky post every now and then but even those I'm trying to avoid. I was really tempted last week to set up a CatsIllustrated account and respond to a lot of the delusional ones but again....what good what that do?
Having said that, I'm going to have to remind myself of this come basketball season because basketball tends to really get me emotional, even more than football now and even after our dream season we're having.

This pretty much covers it. I was gonna make some sort of joke about at least BHH's parents didnt take over a thread here but I didnt want this to turn into a big fight too.Essentially, Boo Carter’s mom has a Vol Nation account and any time someone says a word about her son she attacks people. She even got angry about Boo being compared favorably to Adoree Jackson talent wise. It’s a cess pool. 25% of people are clapping back at her and 75% are bending the knee and fawning over her in hopes that if they make her feel good she’ll convince her son to play for Tennessee.
I am a youngin and I sort of agree. As I've gotten older and older I've found it stranger and stranger to closely track the temperament of 16 year olds. I still celebrate and am happy when one commits, especially since it seems like de-commitments happen less nowadays. But I'm not following it year roundAnd after I say I'm going to avoid drama, I'm going to say this; though also "sorry not sorry".
I've said this before and I'll keep saying it; there is something really, really wrong with some of these grown ass adults that follow recruiting like they do. I don't mean a more casual approach, I mean the ones that are almost more into it than the actual sport itself.

Couldn’t of said it better. I don’t think it does any good to confront the mother, but she should’ve understood that it comes with the territory of being a high level recruit to have people following your career. If she couldn’t take that (understandably enough), stay off the boardsPersonally, I don’t think either side is in the “right.” If you’re a fan, and you realize you are allegedly talking to a recruits mother you should conduct yourself better. But, on the other hand, the parent also came onto an anonymous message board guns blazing looking for confrontation so I’m not going to insult our fans and lay the blame entirely on them either. It’s just an embarrassing situation all around.
Pretty accurate depiction.Essentially, Boo Carter’s mom has a Vol Nation account and any time someone says a word about her son she attacks people. She appears to relish in the drama, actively searches it out, and then fans the flames. It really is strange. Many of the recruits' family members that post on here could learn a lot from Cameron Seldon's uncle. He's been great.Personally, I don’t think either side is in the “right.” If you’re a fan, and you realize you are allegedly talking to a recruits mother you should conduct yourself better. I love off the rails.Boo Carter thread has been pure electricity. Hoops is by far my favorite forum on here and where I spend the majority of my time (even if it’s just lurking some days in the off season) but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love how the RF still has the ability to go off the rails from time to time. The convo in the football talk thread is mostly solid, but the recruit threads get bonkers at times. It gives me a small slice of the FF without having to actually go over there and come back with a disease.
Gives me strong AuntieDee vibes and flashbacks of the good times here with her and Jabari McGheeEssentially, Boo Carter’s mom has a Vol Nation account and any time someone says a word about her son she attacks people. I got to watch him at Austin Peay. He played pretty good. It was nice to see him carve out a role (averaged 9.1 PTS and 6.9 REB)This is super random, but I always thought jabari mcghee had a ton of potential. Wish he had stuck around
Edit: by ton of potential, I meant solid rotation player/borderline starter. Not, like, all-sec player
We don’t play at Butler. That game is in the Bahamas.I was checking out the schedule and didn't realize we played Florida Gulf Coast, Dunk City, baby. Well, used to be. How did I miss that we play at Butler ? That will be our first true road game, Butler has great fans (Indiana loves bb) and some history. Didn't they go to back to back Final Fours and beat us about 10 years (Pearl, maybe) ago ?
