TN baseball seems to be stuck at the Sweet 16 level same as basketball. But without the one-and-done scenario.

Does Basilio continue to give Vitello a pass while crapping on CRB at every opportunity? Probably will because CTV comes on his radio show and plays slap ass with TB while CRB puts TB on ignore.

I’m not in Knoxville and don’t really care about what Basilio says. But Vitello made the CWS 2 years ago. I think they are both great coaches.

The parallels between the two teams are apparent. Both talented teams that lack consistency, go through offensive slumps, get to the final 16, face a team that from the name most TN fans think we should be able to beat, but are actually really good teams. Hopefully not the same result. And regarding Basilio, likely helps that Tony V is nice to him, goes on his show, and their last names both end in a vowel.

Yep. Both programs are at an elite level. Still, our fans will start getting restless if the pattern of not winning a CWS game continues.

Basilio is absolutely showing his Pisan bias.

64 in the tournament. Regionals cut it to 16. Super regionals eliminate half of those and 8 teams go to the CWS.

Vitello was the #3 seed in the 2021 CWS and went 0-2. He’s never won a game in the CWS. But he’s a great fit for TN. Hopefully the idiot fans won’t turn on him. Basilio certainly won’t like he chronically criticizes Barnes.

Well, Vitello and the BaseVols came out of that rain delay on FAHR. Cut the 4 run lead down to 1 (then immediately gave one run back). But they still have a lot of work to do with 9 more outs.

Good news, get a split today and TN won the coin toss to be the home team (bat last) in an if needed game 3 on Monday. Game two is at 3pm today or 55 minutes after game 1 finishes if it runs long.
