It makes me uneasy. Not that you can't be successful with a short bench, but any injury would be pretty detrimental. At least we will have a lot of minutes to spread around. Boswell, JP, Carr will need it next year.

Not sure what transpired but sounds like a conversation occurred where CRB gave him feedback to the effect that he wasn't applying himself and playing consistently enough to warrant the playing time Carr expects/hopes for. Maybe @Stoerner Fumbles or @bleedingTNorange can provide some context.

Damn, must have saw something he didn’t like from Carr.

Sounds like Carr was not meeting CRB's expectations...hopefully the last couple weeks were a big step in the right direction.

It was part of the details from the practice reports today, the last open practice of the season. Highly doubt it’s anything long-term serious. Personal matter could mean literally anything. I’m not too worried.

If you remember, RB was in the grill of DK on this same topic ... DK worked hard and got progressively better on the defensive end.
Surprising to think that Mashack is playing the 4 a lot. Interesting opportunity for the young man.
I believe we should keep an eye on Lanier and Mashack going forward .. those guys are going to be the guys who stir the drink ... I'm not discounting ZZ or overlooking Okpara ... I am viewing those guys as steady contributors.
It is going to look good and equally bad for the first third of the season till the team gels ... then we will know what the ceiling looks like.

It’s the time of year where Rick pushes players harder. There’s no crisis with Carr. He’s a team favorite and gets by on personality and raw talent. Barnes just made it clear to him a couple of weeks ago that he wasn’t going to play if he didn’t play within the system at both ends. He’s made big jumps on offense and commitment. He still has a tendency to lash out when he loses his man on defense or misses a switch. He ends up fouling trying to recover. Dubar has been really down and has a situation at home amplifying that. You have to feel for the kid. He just hasn’t found a way to make a dent yet. After the scrimmage loss, the team has been very detail oriented, has tightened the lineup and has put a lot of time in on big to big passing inside. ZZ has also been very vocal and not letting anyone off the hook on lazy cuts and screens. I think the loss has been a good motivator for the team. Estrella may be significantly closer to full strength than anyone expected. He played quite a bit over the last week, and seemed not to slow down or favor his foot. Prior to the injury, he was a big focus on the offense. It will be great if he can continue to recover without setbacks. Excited for real competition next week.
