Never thought I'd say this, but we really can't afford to lose him if for no other reason, we may need his 5 fouls. If he misses time, hopefully it coincides with a return from Cam Carr.
Really wish he landed Ja'Kobi Gillespie. No telling how landing him would affected who else we did land, but he's having a nice year. 14 ppg, 3.5 apg, 1.5 spg, shooting 42.6% from 3 and 95% from the FT line.I can guarantee one thing, I bet Barnes never goes into a season with 2 open scholarships again lol. Our injury luck has been crap this year.
We're like the Lions of college b-ball right @zjcvols
Not sure about the locker room going nutz with a roll of the dice for 1 more warm ball handling body, especially with a core like ZZ, Mashack, Phillips and even Estrella. But I do agree with the first part enough to think that’s probably how we got here.Don't take people just to take people. Have to take the right people or the locker room goes nuts.

If he is taking the right people then great but I would imagine since he didn't take anyone, he didn't find the right people.I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. I’m not saying you just take any Jimmy or Joe off the street, but I’m not sure I agree that the locker room “would go nuts” if there were a few other depth pieces or young players on the team.
Turns out that was Michigan's scouting program giving them our signals. If he is taking the right people then great but I would imagine since he didn't take anyone, he didn't find the right people.
Put one cancer in the locker room and all hell breaks loose. See the UT defense vs USC in 2022.
Agree he has always been a bit streaky but I don't ever recall him going this long while shooting this poorly. In his last 7 games he only shot over 30% 1 time (3/8 or 38%) but, to your point, he shot real well in games 2 to 4 (10/15 or 67%). For reference, last year he had 3 games in a row under 33% early in the season but at no other point had 2 consecutive games where he shot below 33%. Also, last year he only had 7 games where he shot 30% or less with more than 1 attempt - this year he already has 6 of those games. It is concerning, no doubt. However, if you were to track his 3-point shooting over the entirety of his career, you would see each year where he has dips, then peaks. They really don’t correspond to the competition either. I believe his history tells us he will snap back for X number of games again, then will cool, which will alternate the rest of the year. It’s sort of been his DNA collegiately.
Good stuff. The numbers don’t lie. I hope he’s able to get it together and have a great 2025.Agree he has always been a bit streaky but I don't ever recall him going this long while shooting this poorly. I love ZZ and I know he is working his tail off - I just hope this is not a trend and it means he is due to go on an extended heater where he shoots lights out. GBO
KSR picked Kentucky to lose to Tennessee twice. Personally, I don’t see it. I think we split. But very funny reading the post comments and that being the thing that sticks out to everyone and pisses their fans off.
We are in that fanbases’ heads.
