The Official “Regular Posters of the Basketball Forum” Thread

Haven’t listened to all of it but just heard most. Agreed w the TO miss. Liked BU before we played them and still liked him. I’d also be interested in knowing the difference between the sweep foul call he was talking about, if that’s what he heard from the official.
Yeah, didn't understand what he was complaining about there. His explanation of the play in question was as weird and vague as the one he apparently got from the officials.

I thought I understood it to mean the offensive player tried to swing the ball from top left to right or vice versa and the defender swiped/hacked before he or she left their feet. But what does a boob really know?… 😆

Don’t know about Kentucky but I have a feeling the Auburn fans are licking their chops waiting for us to come to that jungle. It’ll be tougher to win there in my opinion than Illinois.
Absolutely, but they'd better hope we shoot 6.3 pct again and have our two best players in foul trouble all second half

Well hopefully I've misinterpreted this whole thing in the same way I misinterpreted others' points on the shover. If we were really a reasonable distance away, then I would def change my stance.
So. You made a mole out of an azzhole. Sounds reasonable.

You can see how far the shover is from his seat (poorly highlighted in green) as the celebration comes over. He steps further into it to shove Lanier. He's probably 12 inches from being on the court.

Thanks, real simple, the players should have exclusive access to the floor area they can legally use on an inbounds pass until they leave the floor. That is part of the legal playing floor. School should be fined for any contact in that area since they provided the opportunity.

Why fine the school? Hold the individual responsible for their actions.

Probably fining the school is the best way to get the school to hold the individual accountable.
The best way to hold the individual accountable is to axe his access to games the rest of the year. There is never a situation where it is even remotely permissible for a fan to push a player. Of course, he shoved him in the back. Extra points for cowardice.

For sure, but you need the university of Illinois to do that. Those are the games he wants to attend and they’re the ones selling him a ticket. If they won’t do it voluntarily, fining them would probably light a fire under them to get their house in order.

Agreed! I hope UL does that.

This shot is even more damning, that jackass had to walk like 3-4 feet to go over and shove and now it's even more clear his reaction had nothing to do with any player getting close. He was just pissed they lost and acted like a coward asshat. Also those fans are quite a bit away from their seats.

Our players did nothing wrong.

I’m sure there’s been a few and it could be a lot more common than what I’m thinking, but tooooo lazy to look.

If Igor and ZZ were to finish the season averaging double digits in their respective areas (Rebounding & Assist)…how many teams can say they
- had a player average at least 10 points
- had a player average at least 10 boards
- had a player average at least 10 assists

On top of that, you would have two players (Igor and ZZ) both averaging a DD.

I think I asked this in a poor way, I apologize lol

I think Igor and ZZ are very capable of doing just that and would be awesome to see.😊 What I also find amazing is how productive Cade Phillips is in 17.5 minutes.GBO!

I'd say it's probably not all that common. 10+ apg in college is definitely not commonplace. Only Ryan Nembhard currently averages at least 10 apg in all of D1 basketball, and even he is just over that threshold at 10.3. Only 13 D1 guys are averaging 10+ rebs. The points are obviously the easiest to land.

There’s no thread but Memphis deserves to lose the Frisco Bowl for being idiots.

Their running back went out of bounds to save West Virginia a timeout. Then they try a long FG instead of punting or even just going for it. Then they intercept and instead of getting down the Memphis player runs around and gets the ball knocked out and is saved because he finally was sliding down when the ball was being knocked out.

They won but how stupid

Ok...I'm officially worried about ZZ's 3 point shooting. It's below 30% on the season vs. 34% last season and in the last 5 games he shot 25% on 32 attempts so he is trending in the wrong direction. I assumed it was just a slump he would break out of sooner rather than later but now it's later and that's not good. Let's hope he and the coaches can figure it out because he has shown himself to be a solid perimeter shooter in the past and it will be needed in our SEC games and beyond.

It is concerning, no doubt. However, if you were to track his 3-point shooting over the entirety of his career, you would see each year where he has dips, then peaks. They really don’t correspond to the competition either. I believe his history tells us he will snap back for X number of games again, then will cool, which will alternate the rest of the year. It’s sort of been his DNA collegiately.
