Even if that is what he wants, all 3 of those guys are gone next year. He’d have a pretty strong chance of getting starter minutes if he stuck around. Just a really selfish move that puts us in a brutal situation.

Yeah, really seems like a me first move and ya can't even make the case he wants to go somewhere he can win...

His wrist is worse than they thought and he has a landing spot with more money. As of last week, they had it ironed out, and he was staying. Boswell had an initial assessment on the shoulder, but is awaiting a second one after swelling goes down.

I’m going to guess the answer is no, but with the depth situation becoming fairly dire, are they evaluating any type of mid-year transfer?

Can't wait to find out which team he's going to. Memphis wouldn't surprise me, Auburn wouldn't, and Alabama wouldn't. Can't imagine Calipari would do that to Barnes they seem like colleagues.

They obviously have more connections/knowledge of international players and any other mid-year options than most staffs. That said, it’s a scarce pool and I’ve heard nothing yet. The Carr situation was unexpected as they thought he’d stay. I’m sure they’re scouring options.

Can't disagree with any of that.

At no point tonight, like many points throughout the season, does our OL block long enough, Nico process fast enough, and our WRs get open enough simultaneously on the same play.

Nico is a great 7v7 QB, but with live bullets coming at him, the game just hasn't slowed down for him. He's not helped out hardly ever by his WRs. When they get open, they drop the ball. Other times, Nico overthrows them, underthrows them, doesn't see them, etc.

The team speed, or lack of, has never been more evident than it was tonight.

Maybe we overachieved, but we really only beat one team that was any good. I exclude Florida because they hadn't figured things out when we played. We beat Bama and lost a game to UGA that wasn't really all that close despite what the scoreboard said. Coming into this game, tonight, it felt like it was going to play out like the UGA game. Talent was going to take over, which it did. This OSU team is even better than that UGA team.
I think we’d lose to Florida, Alabama, South Carolina or Ole Miss if we played them now. Ohio State is better than any of them, by quite a bit. We benefited from scheduling and timing. Alabama is learning a new process, Florida is young, and that left Georgia as our one big test. I think Oregon and Ohio State are the two best teams remaining, with Beck out. The playoff system has exposed the sad truth that there are usually two or three great teams in any given year. Picking twelve is going to make for some bad games. I’m not a fire the coaches guy, but Heupel needs an OC. Right now, he’s calling every play. The offense is too dependent on mismatches and not flexible enough to generate any big plays without depending that or tempo. Ohio State had us outclassed at every position. Watching their NFL receivers on our safeties and LBs was painful. Even our vaunted DL lost the line battle against their hodgepodge OL. We were never going to win that game.

I get that they don’t want to lose a year of eligibility to play 8-10mpg, but damn that also feels selfish too

I mean it’s basketball, NBA sees 1 good year OR you’re a freak young guy and they’ll draft you anyway.

Carr sitting for a year doing nothing probably doesn’t help him develop & just a year older (negative to NBA scouts)

Will be curious the “landing spot w more money”. I’m already waving him goodbye but was under the impression tampering was still in play. Can’t stand drama, but seems like there might be smoke.

Tampering isn’t even necessary anymore. Agents and connections just shop numbers with intermediaries. It’s pretty gross, but a dream come true for a certain kind of coach.
