No Gainey hurts our chances significantly. We need his ability to get to and finish tough twos around the rim as well as his mid range shooting. Without him, Auburn will be able to key in on Lanier more than they are already planning on doing. Going to take a stellar defensive effort to hang around in this one.

I mean I get it's fluff and probably pandering to the Auburn Gameday crowd but...how the hell you going to say a guy that has 1 FF (6 years ago) and otherwise hasn't gotten out of the first weekend at Auburn is the best coach in the NCAA?

You honestly are telling me he's a better coach than the guy who just won back to back National Championships? That's just f'n stupid.

And results....I'm sorry I lose track of how we determine results...he's made 1 FF 6 years ago and otherwise hasn't made it out of the first weekend at Auburn despite having usually high seeds.

If they knock him for being a jerk I guess I can buy it but Pearl isn't exactly a saint either.

If they are going for best coach this exact second, I mean I guess but that's quite silly. That's like saying Sam Darnold was the best QB in the NFL after like 2 weeks.

By your your dumb logic, Barnes isn't a good coach either.

Where would you put him? If he's not at least in your top 5, then your are one of the people I was referring to when I mentioned a grudge

It's not my logic bro, I was pointing out the logic that was used against Barnes being a good coach when the same s*** can be said about Pearl.

And you said Barnes should be Top 10 but Pearl is at least Top 5? So you think Pearl is a better coach than Barnes? Fair enough but again I'd like to know based on what?

Also let's not lose the plot here....you DID say Pearl is the best coach in the NCAA and I want to know how the hell you can say he's better than Hurley at UConn. Defend that one.

IMHO he is. I'm looking at last 20 years or so. Bruce has turned programs around at a high level. I guess if you just wanted to go off the last 2 years, then Hurley would be it.

Dan Hurley has coached for 15 years and turned around 3 programs. Regardless of his nonsense, 2 national titles is a difference maker.

I would agree Pearl is Top 5 in the past 20 years but he's not the best.

Also not sure he's even in the best coach in Alabama right now with Oats.

Was just about to say this. Oats will easily surpass all current SEC coaches, sans Cal, in career/tourney accomplishments if he stays in CBB for his whole career.
