The Official #1 Tennessee @ #3 Georgia Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, CBS

Y’all help me understand.
UT beats Bama.
UGA beats UT
UGA beats Bama.

UT > Bama. What am I missing with the peow that want Bama to lose before the SECCG?

Sure, but Kirby is not a mediocre coach.
Tenn beat Bama because Bama is currently undisciplined and not a good secondary... plus it was at home.
It's retarded that people are complaining that Tenn is getting outcoached. Tenn isn't pass blocking and secondary sucks.

Just to be clear, I did not say that Kirby wasn't a good coach. I responded to the post that 5's vs 4's (stars) were the difference. In this game, talent may have been the difference given comparable coaching but my point was directed to all the posts over the years that state that teams can't compete or win against teams with more "stars". To that, I say BS! Give my good coaching ANY DAY over "stars" that have mediocre coaching.

TCU will loss two games
Clemson will lose a game
Alabama or Georgia will lose one game
Michigan or Ohio State will lose one game
But if Georgia loses 1 game and Bama wins out, then most likely Georgia and Bama would be in playoff. They're not putting 3 SEC teams in playoff.

We need to go out and put a spanking on everyone else the rest of the season and probably need a little help but we can still make the playoffs but at the end of the day finishing strong and 11-1 is a solid year. A good bowl game
Yeah if you can call the Sugar Bowl a 'good bowl game'.

Not back? Back to what? Other than ‘98 how many years do we have better than 11 wins? The D played fine against the number 2 offense.
Back to being competitive in games against national champion contender teams. Back to being a National Champion contender. It's not about number of wins. Don't take what I'm saying wrong though. We are way ahead of plan and headed in the right direction. Just not all the way back like we had started believing before this game.

Look at evaluated talent of starters for todays game. TN has a ways to go on talent not to mention quality of depth is better on GA side as well. How long will it be before TN catches up talent wise? At some point, scheme / player development has to close the gap as recruiting will take years to catch up.

And we accomplished a lot with scheme and development already. But you aren’t going to be successful with that every week. It caught up to us today, and I’d put it on execution (false starts, missed throws, etc.) more than on scheme.

We got our hats handed to us today by a program that has been built well for years. There's no shame in losing to them, especially at their home. It's a learning experience in the building process. I like how our team never bowed their heads and fought to the end. That's a good sign.

We can end this season 11-1 and still make the playoffs with help here and there. If so, we can make some more loud noise. However it ends, we will be recruiting on a very positive note. We need a few top five classes and we're where we want to be with this coach.

The way they played tonight I’d be worried about Missouri and USC Jr….. terrible play all the way around, terrible coaching and worse performance, winning out is not even close to guaranteed

We were in 3rd and long all night. Offensive line was as big of a reason why we lost tonight more than anyone else. Multiple false starts and blown blocking assignments
I disagree. Hooker played horrible. He missed three walk in touchdowns because he over threw the receiver, he was inaccurate all day and refused to move out of the pocket. But... 11-1 is something no one thought would happen so this loss doesn't hurt near as much for me

Georgia coaches had their team ready and their players wanted it more. The Vols were probably a little star struck being newly minted #1. I don’t think Heupel and the Vol coaches had our players ready. The offensive penalties were ridiculous. The good news is that we still have a chance to finish the regular season 11-1 and make the playoffs or a really good bowl.

After 15 years of suck, the Vols are back!!!

Heupel had them ready to the best of his ability.

Weather didn't help, but give credit to
- Home Field Advantage
- Kirby with a damn good scheme filled really good players.

2 years now Kirby has had the talent advantage AND coaching advantage.
It's okay because Tennessee and Heupel are obviously improving.

Please stop with the “want it more” stuff. Our guys tried hard, they just didn’t play well. It happens. Especially on the road against a superior opponent.

It wasn’t a very good game by him. Very tentative the whole way
