At the start of the year would you have taken a 11-1 record. And nobody is saying we are still the best team in the country. We are just saying the season is not over. But that’s ok you would rather co cry a River and complain about our best season in 20 damn yearsMy problem is we (Vols fans) are in this situation because we set ourselves up…. We got beat bad tonight but yet we still think we are the best team in the country and think we will win it all in the end….check into reality bro… 11-1 is great but ask coach hype and he isn’t living with a moral victory tonight like some of you
I can agree with that. He was not his normal decisive self and it hurt us. I think Coach Heupel and Coach Golish were frustrated because they couldn't get a play that Hendon was able to read like they were used to.I think it was more of not seeing the receivers covered as good as they were tonight than the atmosphere. I think Hooker is used t having his receivers wide open by several steps due to really good receivers and schemes that cause busted coverages. He didn't see that tonight, because the defense was not having busted coverages, and their secondary was as good as our receivers.
LSU and UGA go to playoffs in your scenario IMO. Hard to take two teams from a conference and leave their champion out.So a what if, because it is on my mind watching LSU and Bama - what if LSU wins and in the SEC championship game and then beats UGA - does a 2 loss LSU team become one of the four? Or does the committee take a 1 loss SEC team over them, which may be the team they beat? Or does the committee for the first time ever not select an SEC team?
And this is a possibility right now.
Both examples you mention are plays where the DBs had Hyatt and Fant covered better than what Hooker normally sees in our offense. No they didn’t. Hooker overthrew Hyatt in the 1st quarter for a sure TD. There were several other times our WR’s had a step on their DB’s as well. Hell he overthrew Fant as well late in the game running down the sideline.
I am into reality, bro, you are the one that is not. Not even the most delusional fan on here will say we have been the best team in the county for a while. They are still my favorite team and my alma mater. I am not living with a moral victory, but even you in your blind defense of your stance can say that you actually thought we would even be having this conversation. If you do not want to enjoy this season, more power to you. I choose to see the forest in spite of the trees. My problem is we (Vols fans) are in this situation because we set ourselves up…. We got beat bad tonight but yet we still think we are the best team in the country and think we will win it all in the end….check into reality bro… 11-1 is great but ask coach hype and he isn’t living with a moral victory tonight like some of you
We got our hats handed to us today by a program that has been built well for years. There's no shame in losing to them, especially at their home. It's a learning experience in the building process. I like how our team never bowed their heads and fought to the end. That's a good sign.
We can end this season 11-1 and still make the playoffs with help here and there. If so, we can make some more loud noise. However it ends, we will be recruiting on a very positive note. We need a few top five classes and we're where we want to be with this coach.
Bless your heart. None of that matters. It's what the committee sees. Those games are early and will probably not stand up. The same as the OSU game earlier today. Never said it wasn't a great season and you actually made my case for me when you stated and I quote "we were never supposed to be here". Oh, and its "YOU'RE".No your the dumb one. If you can’t see that we were never supposed to be here and yet we have had our best season in twenty years I don’t know what’s wrong with you. And guess what we can still make the playoffs. Because I don’t know if your dumbass watches football other than to cry about Tennessee, but Clemson and bama are losing. And guess what little one, if they lose and tcu loses we get in the 4th spot. But nah go cry into your pillow and tuck your tail because we lost to the best team in the country
So we didn’t want to catch deep balls? I think you’ve watched too many football movies
Before today, who else was deserving of being #1? There was no arguement; nobody could touch our resumeWe were never good enough to be ranked #1. It was an illusion and at least a year too soon. Not a chance in hell we make the CFP with this loss. Anyone that thinks differently is delusional. Be mad, incredulous, etc, and so on but it won't change a thing.
I could see 11-1 Tennessee playing 11-1 Liberty or 11-2 Oregon in the Cotton Bowl or maybe playing North Carolina in the Orange Bowl.Maybe LSU - but not Alabama. Bama fans would not be happy with a non-playoff bowl. TN and probably LSU as well would love a Sugar Bowl birth and bring tons of revenue in for the bowl game.
