Having not had time to catch up on this thread, someone else might have made the following observation. If so, I apologize.
It's obvious that Kentucky, whose pitching staff has a 5.3 SEC era, NOT a 2.0, has discovered how to pitch the Vols. The first night might have ben written off as a fluke, but the second night indicates otherwise. I recall that Tenn Tech pitched us very effectively by not throwing fastballs, only slow, big breaking stuff. Kentuvcky isn't doing only that, they are mixing a few fastballs with a lot of different kinds of off speed and breaking stuff. They are throwing fastballs just off the plate or low or high, getting us to swing and miss, getting ahead in the count, and then throwing the offspeed stuff, at which we are flailing. We are a fastball hitting team, and they have found a way to take advantage. As the finish to game two gets underway, let's hope our guys have figured out a counter stratgy.
