I went back and read it this morning...yes it was!Same here ... except I don't have a "little" one. The thread was getting somewhat hostile.
Clemson uses helicopters to dry the grass parking areas for their high-end donors if they’ve had rain. It’s amazing how much wind those things createOk not exaggerating here. . My Dad’s employer allowed him to use their helicopter (Bell Jet Ranger) to dry off the infield for a state playoff game a few decades ago. It worked like a champ.
and there’s absolutely zero environment this weekend.
The tone for the weekend was set in the first inning of the first game , we gave outs away on the base pads and give Kentucky confidence! You can’t show up flat at any SEC school and expect to win. Any SEC school is more than capable of beating you on any given day. We have 5 outs to figure this game out , if not the series belongs to the Cats. I believe it can be done , Go Vols is all I can say. The Pitching has kept us in both games , which is always positive…. Our hitting has tanked so far and this weather isn’t going to help in any way. I will say the next game I think will be a low scoring affair. I hope I am wrong but it’s terrible and the atmosphere as well. Just not a good vibe at the ball park . Kind of gloomy and miserable. Makes me appreciate LNS for sure … one other thing is a New Ball park doesn’t always create an electric feel. I hope Tn sees this. Kentucky has a beautiful stadium , kind of that big league , Hoover feel for me but just a terrible atmosphere though. I am been to more exciting funerals lol maybe not that bad
100%. I absolutely get that it was ridiculously rainy and late last night, but you hit the nail on the head with it being a completely flat and energy-devoid atmosphere and it’s certainly plausible that this is affecting the Vols’ ability to “show up.”
On another note, I see that Kentucky Proud Park has a capacity of ~4,000 with the ability to go to 7,000 for tournament games with temporary seating. I have no idea from watching the last two nights where this huge bump in capacity actually goes, but I would really like to see Tennessee (somehow, not an architect) implement a similar approach to LNS with modular seating that allows for a standard capacity of ~6k that can be expanded to ~7.5k/8k for big series and tournament games.
I left the thread at 10:00 pm. I was worn out & couldn't post anymore.
I fell asleep sometime after they announced the rain delay and woke up about 20 minutes ago. I obviously needed the sleep, but it feels weird because that was so much time and I'm wondering how much things have changed while I was in my coma-like sleep.
I assume Puting didn't nuke anyone, but that might be a poor assumption.
Thanks to people posting I'm aware that the 2nd game will be 7 innings. I'll just guess that's because they don't want to ask too much of the umpires and staff it takes to have a game and will also guess umpires aren't compensated very well, but maybe they are.
Anyway, good morning and good afternoon.
Thank you sir. I need to figure out that blue font on an iPad.@taylorvol is kidding. He wrote insert blue font, which is generally accepted as sarcasm/joking
